A thin sliver of butter. Often served with miso ramen.

Hilariously, on the way out about midnight (we were super delayed) some American influencer-looking couple glared at me like I invaded their “Oh my god, I just DISHcovered” ramen house.

Because it’s bad for you!!! Just kidding. There’s a few places in Los Angeles. A few places in Culver City as well as in downtown, Japan Town to be specific that offer the same, a sliver of butter. But Outside of Japan that experience hasn’t been common for me either.

Somewhat related, any of you guys who are on Bluesky, I've attempted to create a feed where if you tag anything fun/tasty you find with @layovershenanigans it should go to a specific feed. At the moment I have it so that I have to approve everything as I'm trying to keep to actual interesting things and not various Irish pubs. Unfortunately I seem to be the only crew member on the platform.

Spicy miso is an entirely different animal. But the base miso is support to be rich, buttery and, well, with corn. Ha!

My new kink: Yakiniku, solo-style. Cook for yourself and ONLY yourself, kiosk ordering, enjoy the meal without your copilot asking “Ewww, what’s that?!”
