I do see a little humor in it. Unfortunately that little bit of humor is far over shadowed by the fact this happened at all. A lackey for the DEA calls the SBPD and says plane with stolen N-number is headed their way? Why did that happen on that particular day when the plane in question had filed IFR on so many other occasions? Why did no one inform the police that the aircraft was reported stolen 8 years ago and that is therefore unlikely the pilot on that particular day would be armed and/or dangerous?Since they are about the last people you would ever expect to see in this situation; how can a guys not see a little humor in that?
When they were removed from the airplane, several LEO's had weapons drawn and aimed at them. That is unacceptable to me. Weapons drawn? Sure, knock yourself out. Aimed at an innocent person? I have a problem with that. Those guys are professionals. But even professionals screw up and fire their weapons accidentally on occasion. If it had been me and I had to watch my wife ordered out of the plane at gun point, I would most be definitely talking to every attorney I could find right now. And I would be pursuing every avenue available to file a lawsuit. I'm sorry, but I don't find anything humorous about that. And I hope the Kings pursue any available suit to the fullest.
