JC Cyclists.

Ditto. I am down for one, and if I end up getting the Orbea I am leaning towards, the JC blue will match it pretty well!

I gave in to the Orbea Opal... I probably should have taken more time, but this ride just felt right from the first test ride on it.

All I ask is bike riders allow cars to pass and don't ride 3 abreast at a leisurely stroll pace. I am going run over on of the DBs that ride on the weekends near my work. Bastards act like want to block you from passing.
That is all be safe.

I know when I ride and there is a good size shoulder I try to ride in it but sometimes you can't. Soulders are often very gravelly because they don't get traffic like the road does to keep them clean. You should try riding skinny tires on a road with gravel rolling out from under your tires as you roll by. Three abrest on a busy road isn't smart but Who knos if they have a reason or not. If its a side street then I don't understnad what the big deal is, its easy to swing over and go around.

Don't know a whole lot about the individual riders, as I am fairly new to the sport, but I do enjoy watching the race. There is a lot more strategy involved than I ever imagined, especially with the larger teams. It seems as though the team is there to help one or two big name riders and as those riders go, the team goes. Very interesting.

Yeah man, it is a complicated sport but you will figure it out fast as time goes on. Here are some pics I took of my ride last year. Sorry the quality is poor, its with an old camera.

I dig the ride! That is one that I was looking into, but I still like the Cannondale and the FUJI's are nice too. Fact is, too many other activities and not enough time or capital!

IMHO its the greatest and most strategic form of racing there is. Things are so dynamic when a human is the powerplant.

You mean my boy JR and Hendrick Motorsports aren't as strategic?

In all seriousness though, I love to watch the sprints at the end of each stage because to me, that is pushing the human limit. It is also where I think you find true heart in a competitor. You bust your @zz, you have nothing left and there is 1km to go.....do you let up, are you content with where you are or do you push beyond your limits and go for the stage win. Granted it is far different circumstances, but I think it is like SEAL "Hell Week" or something similar.....you are spent, you are mentally exhausted, you want nothing more than to quit, but do you? Physical fitness gets you there, mental fitness lets you finish.

Put this in the 'daily pic' thread, but probably more relevant here. My buddy Drew today hitting some new trails...

What have you had it out on so far?

I pretty much ride the same ride all of the time, which is the park loop road in Acadia National Park. The loop itself is just shy of 20 miles, but I usually do two laps and a trip up Cadillac Mt, which is close to 45 miles and the climb has close to 1500' of elevation gain. The pavement is perfect, much of it is two lanes of one-way traffic, and you mostly have it to yourself the hours I ride. I could ride this same loop for the next 50 years and never tire of it. I have a good low traffic back road to do intervals right near my house, so I do that every other ride.

Here is the ride shot by someone else on YouTube. The video starts at the top of the mountain, but you get the idea (I usually start where the car makes its first right turn at the bottom of the mountain rd.)
