In Alaska I can go from Anchorage to Dutch Harbor and only talk to two controllers. Its a beautiful thing.
In Arizona, my gas is only $2 a gallon. Can you say as much? It's a beautiful thing.

It's like everyone's a twelve year old trying to sound cool and punk one another.

This!
Just as bad are the idiots who, when someone inadvertently on the ground at ATL calls who they think is ramp control on guard, tells them to "taxi on in" or some other asinine comment. Someday some one will, and clip another's wing or worse, all because of poor radio discipline and foolishness.
Makes me want to get an SDR and a VHF antenna just to serve this purpose, actually. If I'm DVRing it at home, I WILL reach through 121.5 and throttle you!
Effin' A right on that one, man.No, but I can say that I don't have to live in Arizona.![]()
$2.29 here.In Arizona, my gas is only $2 a gallon. Can you say as much? It's a beautiful thing.
Delta pilots. I heard for this part they didn't need a script and just let the Delta guys do what they do best naturally![]()
I still see LNWA guys with their old wings, hats, and epaulettes on...
I think you're taking it to seriously. Plus, it's printed in my jepp binder that 121.5 is "Delta radio" .15 years at Delta, never seen anybody act the fool on guard. 5 years at ASA, every day was some new shennanagns. As an FO, I could only SMH and sigh disgustedly. As a captain, I at least got to bitch slap some FOs for carrying on.
fNWA wearing hats? Now I know you made it up! Was in the first category to get integrated. Never seen a single fNWA wearing old bling. Seen several fDAL wearing old wings though. I'm sure that there are a few CAL holdouts running around too. Or is it all milk and cookies over there?
I find it interesting that people seem to think they know more about what's going on inside a company that they don't work for based on Internet postings than actual employees of said company.
My policy is "HUSH!"![]()
That isn't normal? I've cleared the passengers to takeoff in EMB products before.

So like a normal day flying?I've done something similar in a Cub. NJ to FL without talking to anyone over the radio - and it was at 500'. What a great trip that was.
