I just get called "Captain" with it by the shoeshine guysI actually just started recently wearing the hat. Still not sure how I like it, but I told myself I'd give it a try. I do notice I get asked a lot more questions by random people in the airport when I wear it...
meh, that's what they call everybody in uniform. I have it on good authority it results in better tips from regional FO'sI just get called "Captain" with it by the shoeshine guys
I would just be happy if people just wore the company tie.
It is generational. My parents and grandparents look at a pilot wearing a leather jacket and see him as a professional and want him as their pilot. They see a pilot wearing a blazer and think it is a "male stewardess" and don't trust him. Just an observation.
and look like an idiot wearing a puffy jacket with a random blank Velcro patch. Fits in well at Waffle House I guess.
Better than looking like a pedo flasher in the trench coat, although that probably fits in well near most of our new hotels.
I'm at Southernjets, so, NO. But some still don't wear them. Don't care. The ones I have an issue with are the ones who walk around with it in their hands, so when accosted by the Hat Police, they can quickly put it on. If you are going to make a statement, have the stones to back it up. Leave the hat at home and tell the HP to go shove it.
An overcoat is proper outerwear when wearing a suit. Done properly, you should look like Gordon Gekko on the way to ruin some lives.

Idk what southern jets is. Yea I could care less if they were mandatory and someone didn't wear them. Just saying when they're optional and someone wears them most of the time they're a tool.I'm at Southernjets, so, NO. But some still don't wear them. Don't care. I like our airline for pilot attire. No hats, no ties.![]()
I wore my hat to get oriental food in Seatle today. I'm happy I did, some cop or something was snapping pictures.
