Thanks for the info WoH, it is greatly appreciated. I wonder why they even worry about sending a geo preference email when they already ask your geo preference when you fill out the application. Seems a little counterproductive to me. Oh well, I will jump through the hoops. One other question I have though, I was reading through your other posts and in one you mentioned speaking to an ATM in which he told you that they know that if you someone doesn't want to be somewhere then they know they won't work out there. In saying that, wouldn't it be better to list two preferences of places that you really want to be, as apposed to saying you are open to anywhere? For instance, I have lived in TN and KY in the past few years, and I love both states. So, I was more than likely going to use TN and KY, and hope for a spot in Nashville, Chattanooga, Louisville, Lexington, or Covington/Cincinnati. Seeing as only Nashville, Louisville, and Covington are actually hubs, I would think I have a greater chance at one of those three since they should have more ATCs. Let me know if my logic here is crazy or not.
You pick two states. There is also a comment section where you can list a few things.
1. They ask for counties in the states you picked. This really isn't necessary, but if you've got your heart set on a certain area, by all means list it.
2. Go ahead and tell them if you want a specific facility. Give the name or the code, either is fine.
3. If you just want the job, and don't care where you go, you need to say "Willing to relocate throughout the United States and territories"
I've always heard not to do this. I want FAI or JNU, but I've always heard to just choose the state (AK) and the counties (boroughs) the facility is in. Is it really ok to just put "JNU or FAI" in the comment box?
Hey there.. just a heads up for a fellow buckeye. CMH and DAY are both not hiring for FY2010. I got picked up for CMH, waiting patiently in line. Doubt they will put applicants in line for CMH and DAY, especially CMH from the line of people with TOLs waiting to get in it may be a few years, but CLE I am not sure of - I hope you get ZOB or CLE!! Good luck!
This is some pretty great information! Does anyone know anything about the staffing levels for MI? I have put it down as my top choice for 5 and for 7. I know I'm probably :deadhorse: but I live in MI!
PS-I put down TX this last time too and by the time 8 rolls out I'm going to put just about anything that gets me hired!
I listed specific facilities and got an offer for my first choice. I don't know if it works like that or I just got lucky, but that is my experience.
Also, another question: is it possible to put down first and second choices in the same state, or do you just list facilities you would be willing to go to? For example, could you list AK: 1) JNU, 2) FAI; or just "JNU or FAI?"
I listed mine in the order I wanted them and got my my first choice. Probably doesn't have anything to do with how I listed them, but you never know.
Per the initial testing email,
Is today the last day of AT-SAT testing nation-wide or was just for your location?

I guess my real question with the Geo. Prefs. is: are they reviewed by an actual person, or are they just run through a computer program?
When did you take your ATSAT im in Raleigh, NC too. I took mine in Baltimore on Nov. 4th.I am looking to stay in NC, Raleigh or Charlotte.
