Furlough Estimates

It's complicated but you can get in the ballpark if you multiply by .85

So 100TFP = 85 hours. Or in this case, 67TFP = 57 hours

Way better than I thought they would be. 67tfp plus medical for five years or age 65, roughly 191k/year at captain pay.

Extended emergency time off is 55tfp, 6 months to 5 year options plus medical.

Are they kicking into the 401k for at 67 TFP for that entire time?

SJI displacement posted. Ugly. So in 4 months I went from being awarded captain to not being able to hold any FO seat. Wow this industry humbles you quick. Good luck to us all!!

I’m in the exact same boat. It has to be some kind of record for going from captain award to no longer having a position.

Nope not for the retirement, they do for ExETO.

I'm thinking ExETO is gonna be popular. I'm going to be spending the next 6 weeks thinking about what I could do to pass the time at home for the next few years. Go back to school? Spend time with my son before he goes to college?

Think of this. You could upgrade and commute to reserve in OAK... OR... you could come back in a few years as a captain, already off reserve, and in the domicile of your choosing.

I had upgrade loaded into PBS and awarded for May.

Almost made it.

I was close to capt too, now i'll just be happy to have a jerb. Fingers crossed for some industry consolidation out of all this...

Yeah I agree, a lot to think about with all of this.

How do furloughs at mainline typically affect regional staffing? Scope, cost, frequency, etc. obviously make this a bit complicated. However, in the past downturns, have reductions at mainline correlated with a similar impact at their regional carriers or have they been impacted disproportionately (e.g. faired better than mainline, significantly worse than mainline)?

To my knowledge, no regional carrier is running displacement bids...... yet.

4 years. I'd been trying to leave the whole time, we'll see if I was "fortunate" to not get a call.

An outbound crew took an airplane from us at ATL the FO remarked it was so weird that his last trip at Eskimo was to the ATL. I asked why and he said he'd been hired by Southern Jets. When the FO in ATL told me he was giving up almost 4 years I thought that was pretty crazy. But he was 10 years younger than I. With over 400 behind me I thought I was safe from a furlough as I had already gotten past the historical percentage from the 2008 furlough.

June 4th sounds like there could be a big announcement for Eskimo.
