Furlough Estimates

On a positive note...Spirit just sent out an e-mail cancelling the reduction bid that was to close tomorrow.

Don’t know what ALPA and the company were able to negotiate beyond the extended leaves...but no furloughs or downgrades here in October.
I hope it’s because bookings are up and not something artificial.

Reserve drops if I'm reading the MOU correctly, in which case I am EXTREMELY happy about.

What do you mean "only" until 2021? Even before the virus in the good years, 9 months is a loooooooooong time in the industry. It's even longer during a pandemic when nothing is known as far as cure, treatment, or when the virus will just go away and pandemic ends.

Google job alerts be on point tonight.

That's why I put it in quotes as "only." Point being, even in the good years, 9 months is a long time in aviation. You guarantee no furloughs for 9 months starting now during a pandemic? That's an absolute victory for the pilot.
Right. I agree. The context of the question was about the reserve day drop ability. It is “only” through May 2021, but was a major give in their last contract.

^ This. Reverve rules were gutted last contract. We went from having arguably the best reserve rules in the industry to easily the worst rules in the current contract. Getting that ability back while mitigating the 117 furloughs (at least for now) is a huge win for us.

Well, Frontier's leave LOA is a turd, not even a polished one at that.

35/hr month. I suspect the only takers will be junior captains who don't want to lose their fourth stripe.

Edit: not that I wouldn't be grateful to stay home and collect $7500/mo with benefits, as compared to the tens of millions who've lost their jobs globally.

I better work on my burger flipping skills.

Using some rough math (everyone who took the early out makes around $285,000 a year, everyone getting furloughed makes $150,000 a year), Delta just cut almost a billion dollars a year of payroll costs, and now wants MORE?
