Furlough Estimates

The last month or so, I’ve really come to learn what Imposter syndrome is. It is hard to be happy and content while I see so many I truly respect and admire in the unknown, people that were meant to be at the best of a career gig, best of luck all.

Sometimes you get the bear. Sometimes the bear gets you.

If anything the people on top are mostly lucky. They had good timing.

They aren’t good people, because they got there.

It’s all just luck. Lots of people are about to get really, really unlucky. It doesn’t make them bad people.

I still use Facebook all the time. Great for organizing trail work days. Most mountain bikers post photos of bikes leaning against things in cool places

Anyhow it’s also why I’m Facebook friends with less than 10% of pilots I meet...

Yeah, I got a few of them myself. FB is still too toxic. We have a good crew out where I currently Iive, and we use WhatsApp for all that now.

I’d say Facebook is actually a lot worse. Not nearly the cesspool that’s Twitter is, but close. This place is relatively benign by comparison.
Facebook and Twitter are fine if you curate. You have to make an effort not to look at stuff that pisses you off, and heed advise from 1984. Twitter is honestly one of the best informational tools if you have very focused things your looking for (comedy, or football news like trades). Everyone who gets on Twitter tries immediately to follow tools, not use it as a tool, and yeah you choose to look at dog feces so everything smells and looks like dog feces.

"Not look at stuff that pisses you off", the Kryptonite of humanity.

I use Twitter for sports talk only. If you go down most topics in Twitter you're in for a dark dark place. Facebook for memes. I just unfollow the political bot friends.

@GypsyPilot and @BEEF SUPREME, what's your opinion about GIANT bikes? I saw the brand a lot in SLC.

Most brands make decent bikes these days. What kind of riding would you like to do or what do you envision your average ride looking like?

That’s the question you need to ask. When you can demo as many bikes as possible and buy the one you like.

They have a range of bikes, from ok to very good. Just depends on how much you want to spend!

Giant sucks. I hate you, and I hate the bikes you like!

But really I've never ridden a Giant I liked.

I got a 2020 Giant Stance 2 recently...awesome bike for the price.

Giant isn’t the “big box” brand anymore. They still produce low end bikes but their high end (>$3000) are awesome. DiamondBack did the same thing and got away from “big box” image, now the produce some awesome bikes!
