SWA 2nd qtr earnings call this morning.

CEO Gary Kelly: "And while we have a plan for pay cuts, benefit cuts, furloughs and layoffs, we do not intend to pursue any of those... at least through the end of this year."

Sounds like we get a three month reprieve.

Just what we need. A more arrogant Todd who's probably thriving at his decision to leave the airline industry. There were times when all was well and Todd was like a rare thing to come across. Now he's the leader at telling us all how horrible our futures will be.

I’d like to point out that I was warning of coming doom and gloom back when things were good before it was fashionable. :) You get started in the industry before 9/11 when everything was unicorns and rainbows, then live through 9/11 and the lost decade after, you learn that that industry is just a never ending cycle of boom and utter suck.

But we're all addicted to it and I bet when we get through this, the new young guns will be all happy and excited. Then I'll be able to tell them "Woah, slow down...."

My suspicion is mainline managment already decided to "Comair" us and are bluffing to get concessions out of that other 145 operator before they announce it. In the long run I don't see many regionals besides SkyWest surviving.

We think you guys will be fine as we are more expensive with our rates and high year captains. If it is us who lives (doubtful), you guys were always great when I needed a lift. One crew went way above and beyond one time and I wont ever forget it.
