Failed MMPI at PEPC?

I was told at the PEPC that we would have at least a 45 day notice but I have heard of a 2 day notice. I should feel lucky that I got the 35 day notice even though when I told my boss today, he was less than impressed due to my having to rush through a training period for my replacement. Anyone else going to the 30 July class date??? By the way, thank you!!

Congrats, that is awesome. If you don't mind me asking, when did you re-take the mmpi. Once again congrats.

Congrats! Too bad I won't be joining you up there at FAI. It would've been fun to be a developmental with another JCer. :bandit:

does anyone know is this "so called" MMPI dispute is over with?

or has anyone recently gotten thier results back?

My doctor let me know when he sent the paper work to the Eastern Regional Medical Office, then I called to confirm they recieved it. After about three weeks I called back and was told that the doctor that needs to sign it went on vacation for a few weeks. I was told I should have the clearance in three weeks, it is now going on its sixth week. I am going to give them a call again sometime this week.

Has anyone ever Failed after taking the retake and meeting with a psychologist? Also, how do they contact you if you fail? How do they contact you with your final offer letter?

thanks.

I think it is over. They told us that went to the chicago PEPC in march about the dispute and that is why they took so long to get our initial results. I am not sure why the dispute would effect your retake though. Doesn't the shrink you see grade the test and it gets sent to DC along with the notes from the doctor about your one on one session.

You're probably not going to get anyone to come out and say that they failed the tier 2 evaluation. I've only seen on post talking about it. The shrink I sat down with in Ft. Worth told me that approx half of the applicants that she tested for the retake failed and that the main problem was inconsistencies.

So has anyone from the March PEPC in chicago called the medical office last week or today. I just wanted to see if anyone has heard when we are going to get our retake info. I know this is a short week with the holiday and last week there was another PEPC. Hopefully we can get the retake info soon.

im not sure if the shrink actually grades the 2 tests you retake, but then, it's irrelavent. The flight surgeon in DC has the final say. Since he, and he alone, makes the decision on if your crazy or not, im sure they wait to grade it until it's in his hands.

The dispute was first over the contract between the FAA and whomever grades the MMPI. I'm sure the FAA also adressed how it could be graded differently or not at all to fix the terrible fail rate(not to mension their wallet).

It's not so radical to think of this process without the MMPI. Pre-employment for being a Radar Tech Specialist used to have an MMPI-like eval. After plenty of problems the FAA did away with theirs *shrug*:bandit:

Got the phone call today. An entire day earlier than I expected too! I was given the number of the shrink I need to go visit "in my area". It is only 8 hours away from my house! I thought about requesting a closer location but I don't want to risk slowing down the process anymore...so what the heck...another fun FAA testing road-trip! I called the doc's office and I was told the whole process with my assigned shrink would only take 4 hours in the morning and I can hit the road and drive back home. They are also sending me a couple packets of stuff to fill out in advance and give to family members to fill out about me. They were very very nice and helpful at the doc's office. I'm looking forward to completing this one final hurdle and then getting back to waiting until October-ish...

If you haven't been given your shrink assignment yet I would start ringing the phones. Good luck.

For all you NYC tier 2 guys...

our results are starting to come into eastern medical!!

i just got a call from JR stating that im finally medically cleared.

What date are you set up for the appointment? Is it another thing you have to wait a month for or is it like next week?

Glad to hear someone has some good news. I actually tried calling wed. the number I had in my first email explaining I failed rang 3 times then starting beeping like a fax line. When I called the number that was on my failed mmpi letter for chicago medical a woman answered and said she just recently was given the phone number and I got the wrong place??? After thinking the FAA was trying to hide from me I finally found a number after searching through Google. The woman transfered me to the woman handleing reevaluation and I could only laugh when her VM said if you are wating on mmpi reevaluation do not leave a message she will not call back and they are working on getting doctors, LOL.

With Today being a holiday I don't expect to be getting the same news as you but heres to next week maybe.

I also received my psych assignment. I am scheduled for Monday 7/13 for my re-eval. I couldn't get in touch with them in Chicago though to let them know when my appointment is. I was instructed to do so in the voicemail they left me.
