Earbuds in sight of pax?

I don't mind the music as long as you're not missing radio calls. And a little conversation here and there is fine. But the idiots who have the attention span of a 5 year old and can't read anything but US Weekly or People should be dragged into the street and shot.
I'll give you that. I love having a ding dong when they want to talk to us.

I won't admit I'm one of those guys who listens to music... Although, when we're in cruise talking to Air Inc over the ocean, it Can get pretty boring when you're with a guy who can't sustain normal conversation.

I don't have a problem with listening to music in between selcals and position reports, it's the "in sight of pax" thing I think should be avoided.

I have seen more Detla pilots with white earbuds and a backpack than I have regional pilots.

Wearing north face totally makes you outdoorsy, duh.
I'm a fan for no other reason that a black soft shell jacket is often the best option for what I do. Its versatile, warm, allows for flexibility, and is easier to pack. The leather jacket in many cases is simply too cumbersome, heavy, and ineffective in comparison.
I am a big fan of the jacket I see many horizon pilots using. Yes it strays from the historical "norm" but personally I'd rather use the best tool for the job than stick with what my grandfather used for nostaglia's sake. All that being said I still wear the uniform I get paid to wear and perform the job as outlined by the company even if it does grind my gears.

How frequently do I use my iphone ear buds? I'm on my 4th iPhone and only recently discovered that they have an integrated mic. Just when I thought I was skewing young.

@Adler-

Oh we're going to scrap about this one. In my 18 years I have yet to see that.

Perhaps a backpack or two, but backpack plus that and earbuds? Oh it's on!

Just searched through all of my iMessages for proof, can't find it anymore, but I did sedt the picture to @bronco21016 like two years ago.

I'll back him on it. When I was commuting out of DTW and for a few months was taking Delta flights to CLT because of a better schedule, I saw two or three guys (with Delta wings, so you can't go blaming it on express pilots) with earphones in while wandering around the terminal. I also saw several backpacks, which I think are fine if they are attached to your rolling bag, but not so fine if they are on your back.
