Eagle Interview

Had my interview today. If you are thinking about applying...do so today! Applied before but did not get the offer? I was told they are now accepting re-app's in 3 months instead of 6. From what I heard today, the flood gates are about to open at Eagle. Now is the time. Make sure everything is correct, and complete. I do not know why, but two out of 6 went home early! As bad as they need people, they will still send you home.
Interestingly enough, we had a 26 year military F15 pilot, and corp guy with 13K hours and 4 CFI's. Two of the cfi's went home early. we had a cfi from ATP, the old delta connection academy (or whatever they call themselves) and a US Aviation, and myself (local FBO type cfi).
The gouges have been spot on! I will try to give a better write up later. I do have a great gouge I can email. If you are in need pm me.

To put things in perspective, it will be exactly 8 weeks from the time I submitted my app to the beginning of class. It was 4 weeks after I submitted that I interviewed and another 4 to finalize the paperwork/medical. Good luck everyone.

Michael, how long ago did you submit your application via airlineapps?

I had actually put my airlineapps in quite a few months ago, but with the recent hiring, I had 6 friends get on. A few of them threw in my resume to their HR people and I got the email 2 days later.

They got me scheduled for a medical on the 15th...

Problem is I have a class date with another regional on the 14th (originally pushed off from the 14th of feb, then pushed off again from the 28th to give eagle time)

I really dont understand why eagles process is so time consuming? I interviewed at the other regional and within three days I had the job offer and a class date.

Hired 130 so far this year, planning on 500 more. This came from the manager of recruitment on Monday.

That's going to be tough to fill. Looks like the regionals could hire over 1000 this year. I wonder where they will find all these pilots. Mins probaly will start decreasing.

Ok I have gotten a little rest so I will post one more write up on Eagle.

First the paper work. Give yourself time. I gave myself a week between scheduling the interview and interview date. FOLLOW their directions, and pay attentions. there are a lot of details.
Some of the documents you will need.
1 Driving records for every state you have held a drivers license. certified.
2. passport
3.fcc license. (get it here http://www.airlinepilotmentor.com/pilot-training/FCC-License.aspx)
4.HS diploma, or college transcripts (certified)
5. all log books, with all endorsements and check rides flagged
6. copies of all documents and ID's and last 4 of pages of logbooks

Their instructions are great just follow them, they fly you in the day before and they have a discount rate at the candlewood suites. If the link they give you says no rooms available at that rate, just call them and reserve a room over the phone.

The hotel is like 3 minutes away from Eagle HQ.

The interview was pretty straight forward, as has been discussed. I didn't feel that "trying to make you feel comfortable" attitude many spoke of. They were all very professional but they seemed to be very down to business. Maybe it was due to the company email they received yesterday on the hiring that will be needed. these guys are going to be very busy for a while!
they randomly pull you out for one on one interviews. HR, Technical and sim. The only NON capt you will speak with is the HR guy. Even the guy who comes to reception and handles paper work and finger prints is a Captain. WATCH WHAT YOU SAY! I was told people lost their PRE-offer in the room they do your final out processing at the end of the day. He said people sometimes get "TO RELAXED"
I did not even know this guy was a pilot until he said he had flown out of the airport I work at.

YOU ARE BEING WATCHED ALL DAY. Be friendly and professional.

I will add this. I went to sim pretty early in the day. There were a few guys in my group who just hit it off right away and we all talked like we were old friend. I got "busted" briefing them on the profile! By the sim CAPT. I thought i was toast. Turns out the two guys who went home sat by themselves and did not talk to anyone.
Not saying let yourself get caught briefing each other, but I do think they like seeing people who can get along with "strangers". I would avoid "war stories". keep it professional. Don't talk about barrel rolling a 172.

About mid day most of us had two of three phases done. and they sent us to lunch. You receive a $6 voucher. for the cafeteria. Have a couple buck available most of us went over by a couple dollars. after lunch you finish your last phase and wait some more. We did have one guy who only finished 1 phase before lunch and was the last guy in the building when we left. he did make it! so don't worry if that happens to you.

I will not go into details about interview questions. As I said I have a great gouge, if you want it pm me with your email and I will send it to you!
Good luck!

Don't ever let this thread die!!!

i was down there for my medical Tuesday morning, looked like they had a big interview group that day. Id say at least 10+

Is it necessary to list jobs that you held for about 3 months or less on the employee background packet that is included in the interview paperwork? I had a job waiting tables for about 2 1/2 months while instructing to keep me afloat. I didn't list it on airlineapps as I did not think it was necessary. Any insight would be appreciated.

they say to list ALL jobs. They ONLY verify non-pilot jobs for the previous 2 years and Pilot jobs for the previous 5. I do not know if they in some way look for evidence of a job in that you had (other then your employment history you gave them).

I had non-pilot jobs I did not list which were older then 5 years that were part time jobs and there was never a question about it. btw if you have received the "we will review your application" email from eagle, and they have reviewed it, do not change it now!
