Sim

The sim is a Barron. They gave me a takeoff from runway 23 at KFWA climb to 3,000 and left turn to 050 to intercept the 180 VOR radial. I did 1 turn in holding over the VOR with a direct entry. Then I got a 270 heading for vectors to ILS 5. At 500' agl I was told to go missed with runway heading back to 3,000'. After that they had me fly the ILS without the flight director.

Do you think MAYBE they could come up with some more creative scenarios than "the Captain shows up drunk in the crewvan?"

Come ON hiring people. We've been using the same scenarios for 15+ years now! Be creative.

Haha! I've interviewed at 5 different regionals, and I got this question at least 3 times already.

That one and, "What do you do if the Captain shows up downstairs wearing a dress?"

(sigh) For the ten THOUSANDTH time..."Presumably the Captain is female, so I wouldn't see the need to say anything."

What should people say to this? Obviously not fly, but should you call the CP or should you convince the captain to call in sick to avoid big trouble for him?

Alcoholism is a disease (at least thats the way it is seen). So if you can get him to call in sick and talk to the CP or the union about it, he can get some help and, hopefully, recover. People aren't perfect and sometimes need help from their co-workers.

Hows that HR? Eat it. :)

What I'd really like to say. "What kinda people you clowns hiring here?"

What about saying, "Chances of me showing up drunk in the morning are far greater than the captain."

Or or or, "Could make for an interesting flight as I'd probably be in the same state as the captain."

I think that would have you hired on the spot! :)

We would just tell the passengers that we promise to not let the Captain touch anything.
