Eagle ALPA Corruption

While AQP negotiations are in full effect, PBS negotiations too, we're in limbo with regards to a fleet plan and we're showing the world (AA and USAirways) that we can't take care of our house.

Also- the officer elections will occur as normally scheduled this Fall, with almost nobody running for a consecutive term. It's a waste of time and money (you know, what they claim to be crusading for).

Exactly the point I'm making. Big Ray and his tea partiers are doing their best to sink this ship while ruining people's reputations as best they can. I can't believe that crowd actually found your blog and began using snippets from it to make fun of you. Disgusting. At this point I won't even shake their hands in real life.

That part made me laugh, but it also made me realize how much I put online about myself.

If you're DFW based and you can attend this meeting, please do. If you can't attend, please find someone to carry your proxy. We don't want 5 pilots to speak for the nearly 1,000 in base.

It was a Family Awareness event and the Negotiating Chairman's wife is from San Juan.
What a bunch of crap. I like how people leave out the important details to cover up the BS.

Family awareness???

4 people total at this meal in question. Two negotiating committee member and 2 girls, one of them a wife of the chairman, I have no idea who the other girl is.. $471.36 at MORTON'S STEAKHOUSE. For only 4 people.. Yeah.. Family awareness.. Lol. More like the negotiating chair making his wife aware they can have a ridiculously overpriced meal and abuse the system.

It's also funny how some of these people like to call themselves "volunteers". Getting captain pay to do your union duties is not volunteering.. Some of these people are getting paid to do this. I don't care what people say, getting a paycheck to do something is not volunteering. Tony and Dave are getting PAID CA pay. The negotiating chairman is getting paid captain pay, yet he is not a captain, has never been a captain, and was paid this even when people senior to him were unable to receive Captain pay. Tony is getting CRJ pay yet he is an EMJ pilot, has never been a CRJ CA, and is going back through training on the EMJ and not the CRJ.. thats fair... lol. Whatever. An overwhelming majority of members and proxies supporting the recalls at the meeting today.

I've eaten at Morton's on union dollars. I guess I'm evil, too.

If it's such a great deal, why is that you're bitching on a web board and they're the ones doing the work of the pilots? You think that dinner at Morton's is so wonderful? You think putting up with all of the BS is worth it? Then pony up your time and effort rather than your hot air.

Please send your resume to eglmec@alpa.org and you too can live my grandiose life.

Getting CA pay to volunteer is called being able to pay the god damned bills while working your ass off for a pilot group. Your logic means that for anyone to do ALPA work they should have to go broke? It's hard enough to get people to do union work, now you want them to do it all without pay? You know how much time I spend every damn day doing work for you! I am a junior line holder that can get 15-17 days off a month, yet doing union work I get less than 8. Every day of every week of every month for almost 2 years I have spent doing this. I make far less money doing union work as I'm not able to pick up OT and I get zero per diem. I make almost $1,000 dollars less per month.

The negotiating chairman could have held captain over a year ago, would you like to get FO pay when you could be getting captain pay? Would you quit your ALPA work? He was negotiating full time to reach an agreement with the company on your behalf. When you're on full time leave you get paid for whatever you can hold. He was getting captain pay only when he could actually hold it, but was unable to due to union responsibilities. If you have a problem with it, or want to know what actually happened, call him, email him, don't bitch about it on a forum.

Tony is a red circled pilot. He would get the pay anyways. Just like you would if you bid CRJ before the November bid closed. If you have a problem with it, call him, or email him, don't bitch about it on a forum.

I'm glad the members of 83 were able to make a well informed (not) well debated (wasn't) decision. You did exactly what your local leadership wanted you to do. Vote in the blind. Congratulations.

Must be something about Mortons. I had dinner there last month and got yelled at. It was about $26. My dinner at Applebees cost substantially more the next night, I guess the problem is that Mortons "sounds" extravagant.

I was thinking that $471 at Mortons for four people sounded a little cheap - but I haven't been to Mortons in years.

Yeah, I thought that too. I mean, you really don't have to try very hard to hit the $200 a head mark there. I've only been twice and both times the CEO was paying.

drunkenbeagle - for $26 you had a petite lunch special filet and a wedge, right?

It was about $250 for two of us last time I wasn't there by myself, two $60 entrees, plus a bottle of wine and desert. My personal preference is The Palm though.

What's the worst you've ever done? I'm not talking total dollar amount necessarily (we've all probably been in a situation buying food for lots of people, which can be expensive even in a mediocre place). I'm talking about the most gluttonous excess on "the company dime"? Mine was in Vegas - Smith and Wollensky. Three of us (pretty good friends and we did biz together) were there for "meetings". We ran up a thousand dollar dinner for the three of us. We could have gone higher but literally ran out of room. Huge Rib-eyes, multiple bottles of wine, bar drinks, every side order they had (it seemed like), and for desert I ordered a petite filet. I'm not a huge fan of sweets except for Blue Bell. I was trying to start a trend of "Desert Steaks". I took the check on that one. Bookkeeper thought it was "excessive".

$3,000 for eight, it was reasonable. Different time. Different place,

I have spent more closing a sale when I ran my own biz, it was worth every penny. The person I was with had no idea what it cost, but that is kind of the point...

I like how all the follow ups to your posts are "why don't you apply" instead of addressing the abuse.

FYI: Nobody who posted after him is being accused of anything, so it is hard for them to address something they aren't part of. Also one of the posters ATN said he and no problem with what has been posted. He is one of the guys that has to OK the spending. So if the guys OKing the spending are OK with it, is it really abuse?

Doesn't that just mean that both are wrong, with the one approving even worse if the rule was to not allow?

National has no rule against buying alcohol, that was an Eagle rule. Some of those dinners has national people at them and were paid for with national money not Eagle money. So the question is who's rules does that meal fall under?
