Eagle ALPA Corruption

Doesn't that just mean that both are wrong, with the one approving even worse if the rule was to not allow?

As I've said (and as Gonzo repeated), no national policy has been violated, as far as I know. MECs interpret their own local policies. ALPA International doesn't get involved in local issues. If there has been a violation of some silly local policy, then it's up to the local pilots to address it.

National has no rule against buying alcohol, that was an Eagle rule. Some of those dinners has national people at them and were paid for with national money not Eagle money. So the question is who's rules does that meal fall under?

True. Who reimbursed? National or and Eagle group? That would solve it real quick.

Getting CA pay to volunteer is called being able to pay the god damned bills while working your ass off for a pilot group. Your logic means that for anyone to do ALPA work they should have to go broke?
I think you missed the point. He never said you shouldn't be paid for your work. He asked for the term "volunteering" to be removed from the job description. You are working for the pilot group, not volunteering for them.

Throw them all out. They are living it up at the expense of the pilots being represented. When the day comes when every line pilot can expense $200/plate dinners for all there friends and family off the company provided per-diem is the day this will be okay.

This is our government on a micro-scale. Out of touch with reality and living off the backs of those who they represent.

And replace who and with who?

Thank you. As I suspected, Cherokee is stretching the truth, as usual. Captain Helling didn't order them to refund anything. He asked for an explanation. Which, as I said, has to do with the responsibility of an MEC to interpret its own Policy Manual.

Asked for an explanation or repay. Don't forget that part. Good luck in their explanation.

Where do you think Eagle's "money" comes from? I can tell you that it isn't from the Eagle pilot group.

So all funds go to national and not held in company or even some for local? If it all goes national why would local even have the ruling to not purchase alcohol if they didn't oversee the expenses. Confused now.

All money goes to national, is divided up according to a formula in policy, and is then distributed to each MEC and LEC. The MEC is responsible for approving its own expenses, provided that they aren't under the supervision of a CFOB, which is an overseer from National for MECs who have been spending a whole lot of money over an extended period of time.

I would imagine what Duck is referring to is the fact that the regional carriers spend more money than they bring in in dues revenue. Regional carriers are subsidized by the major carriers.

Yes. 1.9% of a Delta 777 CA's pay is a hell of a lot more than 1.9% of a Eagle FO's pay. We at the regionals are completely subsidized by DAL, UAL, FDX, HAL and Alaska. I have no idea if AirTran was cash positive or not, but I think pretty much everybody else takes in more than they give. SOCIALISM!

Yes, we pay about $3 million and have a budget of about $1.6 million. After you factor in the things that aren't on our local budget, though, such as attorneys and communications, I'd say we're probably just barely cash positive.
