DCI Pass Benefits

Just remember, they consider your travel benefits (whatever is left of them) as part of your compensation model.

If they strip you of any travel benefits, I'd best be asking for significant increases in pay. Anywhere from 10-20% of your compensation model is considered "travel benefits."

Do the math.

Actually, "they" don't. They consider it a boon from on high from the might Delta. *I,* however, DO consider it part of my compensation, right up there with vacation, sick day and 401k match.

Colgan on the Continental side sucks.

No buddy passes, no travel companion.

You get to be an SA5A, but your seniority resets every year. Last year I was an 09 hire, this year I'm an 08 hire.

I'm lucky to date a pilot that flies for Expressjet, and I'm her travel companion, so I'm an SA3 with her and SA4 without her. Commuting from Houston, it helps out a bunch.

The great Buddy Casey himself said that he wouldn't return to EWR without getting us better travel benefits. He hasn't been back....

Pinnacle folks, be sure NOT to exceed your 3 international days... there's no "exceed three days fee"....

When I asked what the companies Disciplinary Policy would be on dealing with crews who, for whatever reason, exceeded their 3 international travel days, Mike Cullinan replied "Travel Fraud," which is taken very seriously by the company. In some instances in the past I believe it even included termination.

Well, we got the "our hands are tied" and "there's nothing we can do about the pass benefits" from management in one of their famous memos. They're still insisting that all non-wholly owned DCI carriers are getting the same benefits. So, I REALLY wanna hear from the guys at Mesa/Freedom and Republic. Are your Delta benefits changing on June 23rd? If not, it's more or less confirmation that our management is straight up lying to us.

I am eager to see that information as well...

I have asked a couple people and no one knows. Since we haven't heard anything I am going to assume that they aren't changing. Looks like your management is lying to you.

Take it for what it's worth, but from a friend in ACS, all DCI carriers are changing to some degree other than Skywest and ASA. All wholly owned will be the same and all non owned will be the same. That means that some companies are going to get a better deal and some will get a raw deal. THe intent is that everyone in their respective groups, (WO & NWO,) are treated the same.

Again though, SKY and ASA are the exception. They have a contractual agreement concerning benefits. No one else did. I guess they have a smarter set of managers.

So what happens if the wholly owned are sold off?

Are they going to magically get lesser benefits?

I mean come on... why not just have one middle of the road package for ALL the DCI companies?

The purshasing company would probable request a transition period like ASA had when they were bought by SkyWest. They kept Delta mainline bennies for several years and then switched to their current level of benefits. I'm sure they'd also ruire the same that ASA/SkyWest have where mainline boards second to that airlines employees.

Oh Steven, according to the letter our President read us from RA about our campaign to change the wholly owned priority back to S3 or at least S3B; He said that it was necessary that they level the field for all wholly owned and all non wholly owned DCI carriers. All non wholly owned(with the exception of ASA and SkyWest), will loose their buddy passes and parents will have to travel ZED at the highest rate. So Freedom, Shuttle, and Chautauqua will have the same nonrev benefits.

That's actually the first I've heard of the other DCI non-wholly owneds being on the same level as us. Thanks, Howard. If it's true, Delta's REALLY trying to piss people off, I think. I haven't heard near the outrage from the other carriers, but maybe that's because they're saying "Well, if mom and dad can't come see me on Delta, I'll get them there on United." or "Well, I'll just go to Europe on a different carrier."

All the legacies are doing with these travel benefit reductions is sending people to Southwest. The difference between a buddy pass on US Air vs. a ticket on SWA was $14 each way after taxes. Oh and that didn't include the luggage fees...

It's not like the carriers don't have the room for non-revs, I can't imagine it costs them close to anything to carry a non-rev. On the CRJ it's about 2.5 lbs of fuel per 200# on a typical flight so you're talking around $1...wait throw in another $0.50 for the now free soda.

One of the guys checked into a ZED high fare for his parents from ABE-LGA or something, and it was $470.....and that's not even for a confirmed seat! You're exactly right, though. If I'm gonna spend that much money, I'm not gonna go through the hassle of worrying if the flight is gonna fill up at the last minute. I'll just do what every other passenger does: buy the cheapest ticket I can find. The fact they still call them "benefits" is just laughable. I can't wait to see what happens when guys start having to burn their call in honests on commutes b/c they get bumped off flights by rampers from mainline, XJ and Compass traveling with their families and the mainline or wholly owned guy that gets the jumspeat(s).

Delta's Plan - Lets piss everyone off, hopefully they will do a slow down and then when their numbers fall below performance levels, we will cancel their contracts and transfer their flying so we can keep costs low all the time.

That's a pretty good plan though, you have to hand it to them.

Well, they've already got the Pinnacle guys thinking that way. There's a ton of guys over here that have already said they'll vote "no" on even a stellar TA if we don't get pass benefit improvements.

I've got an easier way.... just greet the passengers with a photocopy of my current flight times and my pay check. :D Let's see if they want to fly on the regional then....

And they called Rebecca Shaw inexperienced?!?! :insane:

<--- just north of 1100 and hovering, getting 2 hours a month right now.
