DCI Pass Benefits

Well, looks like the shake up is hitting June 23rd. If you wanna fly for an airline for pass benefits, word is DON'T come to Pinnacle. According to an e-mail from the pass bureau, we're losing parental travel, buddy passes and registered travel companions. Haven't seen the for sure policy yet, but looks like XJ and Compass might even have higher priority than us on our own flights.

I don't think we'll be "overstaffed" much longer after this hits. This could be the final push to those that were thinking of jumping out of the career.

Funny because over at CJC our UAL benefits get a bit better (for some) as of June 1.

We used to be able to fly for free in the lower 48 on UAL for free. But there is now a cost associated, be it express or mainline.

HOWEVER, we now get a registered guest, and 24 segment passes, which we never had before. So for a single guy like me, it got better because I can have a friend come along. But for a married person, not much has changed except for buddy passes, and now they are charged for their family to fly.

If this actually happens, then you're gonna see a MASSIVE resignation in the flight attendent department for sure. A lot of those FAs are only here for the pass benefits. If those get slashed, they'll go sell shoes or work in a convenience store rather than deal with Pinnacle. I'd imagine the ones that have been on reserve for a year (at least the ones that haven't quit already) won't even give notice.

I dunno man, we could only hope, but I doubt it... I mean, if the FA is married or has kids, they still get the bennies....

Yeah PNCL got MASSIVELY screwed with the new pass benefits. Comair thought they had it bad....

Just heard PNCL parents will have access to ZED fares only and in the HIGH zone.

And why does DAL just not adopt a program like USairways..... People complain about it, but its a damn good system.

The Continental side of Colgan has it bad.
We're SA5's (the lowest of the low on the list)
No seniority for day of hire
No buddy passes
No vacation passes
No designated travel companion
No love :(

Non-rev has sucked for awhile. Less capacity brought higher loads and fewer open seats.

It's such a crap shoot. When my folks could fly, they did more than my wife because they were retired and had the time to get bumped, and bumped, and bumped again. We had to use cc miles to get my wife home one time.

MEC's already got the grievance ready to go. Contract says parents fly free on Pinnacle flights. So, unless the company is gonna re-imburse for ZED fares on Pinnacle operated flights, there's a contract violation right there. All I want is non-rev benefits on par with Republic, ASA, Skywest or any other non-wholly owned DCI carrier. I don't think that's too much to ask.

No you don't.

We have to pay the damn travelnet fee to jumpseat on our aircraft or Delta's.

Damn ridiculous to have to pay for a union negotiated benefit.

Our company, and our system chief pilot, seem to fail to realize that we jumpseat for a reason - because it's a negotiated benefit. We avoid non-reving because it costs us money, and yet because Delta IT can't figure out how to get travelnet to realize we are still jumpseaters when we are back in the cabin, it makes us pay the damn travelnet fee.

As a furloughed Comair guy, I will be traveling on S3CR priority. Yeah, I might as well just buy a ticket if I need to go somewhere.

I thought us Comair guys got screwed, but looks like you PNCL guys got screwed even more.

Welcome to the new Delta! Have a Delta day!

Wow, I guess we didn't get it too bad. I feel it's more of a scare tactic to deter us DCI scum employees from traveling non revenue.;) I totally agree with DL mainliners getting first priority on mainline flights and I agree with mainline employee's parent being bumped up to S3 when traveling with the employee, but active wholly owned employees/dependants should be able to board before DL retirees and mainline parents traveling by themselves.
I started a big thread flame session on APC which erupted into a Comair vs DL pilot fist fight. The new pass bennefits will and remain a sore subject right up there with scope. With Comair's unions requesting(well more pushing) for changes to the new pass bennefits, I'm sure it will increse the contempt in which Delta views Comair.:whatever:

Oh, we'll still have to pay the fee, too. Just for crappier benefits.

Rumor has it there were three levels of pass benefits offered, and Pinnacle took the cheapest. Wouldn't surprise me.

You guys got hosed on the new pass benefits!:banghead:

But there's a quick upgrade so it's worth it....<sarcasm> When you're bumped off your own metal by a caterer's mother...."Doin the Colgan."

At Mesa our United benefits just got "enhanced". The enhancement being that we now have to pay $20/segment to fly on United mainline and $10/segment on a United Express carrier (except Mesa.)

Previously couch tickets were free. But now we get COMPANION PASSES! That's a real enhancement.

I expect 40% of our flight attendants to quit when they realize this, it hasn't really sunk in yet.

So CJC and Mesa got the same thing then.

Oh you got enhanced too?

We are excited to announce a new and enhanced employee pleasure travel agreement with United Airlines. Effective June 1st, the UA program will be open to ALL Mesa employees and their eligible family members, and will offer companion passes. This is a significant improvement over the current program.

I don't really care because I'm getting furloughed and they won't let me keep any travel benefits after the furlough date but many people are going to be "enhancing" UA's profits.

Oh, if these benes are as bad as they sound, Pinnacle's gonna need to run a job fair for FAs, gate agents and rampers.

A LOT of them are just here for the travel benefits. You can't abuse someone as much as this company does, yank the one reason why they're still choosing to work for you and expect them to say "Yay! Simply the Best!"
