daily pic

Had a three day layover in Liege Belgium. Waffles were consumed and sights were seen.

7 years later, I've edited the shots from my 2016 visit to the SEA Ramp Tower, which was once the FAA tower. As the pilots who fly there know, they control a lot more real estate than most ramp towers, basically acting as a second ground. Delta's SEA invasion was new at the time, and SkyWest was still flying CRJ-700s for AS, and of course, goodies like the Delta 747\717s, Horizon Q400s, Compass E175s, and Iceland Air 757s were daily visitors. Very pretty views and killer sunsets, and luckily it's usually gloomy like this otherwise all the pics would be backlit haha. Not a bad haul for a quick 20-minute tour that was mostly an ops tour with just a few minutes on the catwalk for photos to end it. Also, there are just 7 Southwest 737s left in the 800+ strong fleet in the "Canyon Blue" colors, excluding the retro livery MAX8. Yet another part of this 2016 scene that is about to be history.

The tower manager is super cool, and last I heard still there today. Probably would not be hard at all for SEA-based pilots to ask for a tour during a long sit\airport reserve if you can get the # from your company.

This is going to seem ridiculous compared to some of the world travels in this thread. But I tracked down a Monte Cristo sandwich. A real one. Not the junk made on French toast. Haven’t eaten one literally in decades. My wife doesn’t get it. My kid has no idea what the fuss is about. So I come to you, my friends, to share a picture of this white whale from my childhood.
