Camp is an hour each way up a rough road which climbs to 3000 feet above Moab. Cuts a lot of time in the Jeep out of our day but nobody seems sad about it.

View attachment 72291 The mountains were looking cool, so I had my camera out when an Atlas plane went by. Our hotel in ANC has a weird tint to the window, so I struggled in Lightroom to make it look as normal as I could. I’m not very good at Lightroom.
+1 for that. Imperial War Museum also.If y’all end up in London on a layover, take the Northern Tube Line out to Colindale, and the 1/2 mile walk out to the RAF Museum. Great museum, and it’s free.

DHL has helicopters in a few cities for airport to downtown transfers of urgent document deliveries.DHL Jet Ranger in EWR. This was a first for me, I've never seen a cargo livery on a helicopter.
Helinet operates an A-Star that’s either wrapped or painted in DHL colors at KVNY, I don’t think I’ve ever seen it fly.DHL has helicopters in a few cities for airport to downtown transfers of urgent document deliveries.

With very few exceptions I leave the airport before the sun goes down, so that might be what they’re doing. Oddly enough, when flying checks was a thing, I used to occasionally ride along on helicopters flying from KBUR to downtown LA. This was normally done very late at night and I’d only get the invite when the person who was supposed to load the helicopter didn’t show up for work, I think I was just ballast. It was an awesome way to see the city, take off from our ramp, fly downtown and land on the top of a couple of really tall buildings and head back to the Ameriflight ramp to drop off the bags and then get a quick ride across the field back at my home FBO. Back in the olden times we were still allowed to have fun.In a handful of cities they were doing one cycle per day. 600lb loads of overnight envelopes could make sense.
