Current Employment Verification

I’m torn as to what to include for work history on my ASAP profile. After graduating college I began working for a large investment firm and plan on referencing this under work history. Before graduating I worked summers at a landscape supply company delivering aggregate. Should I include this summer job under work history as well? Is it ok to list only one job? Thank you

ASAP is one thing, but will not be allowed to have ANY gaps in your work history for the eQIP. The eQIP will throw up a warning about missing work history, so you need to account for every month of unemployment and every month of work, even if you were paid under the table.

My suggestion would be to go ahead and include it, because it counts for more work experience - even if it only lasted for the summer. Work experience of any kind looks good.

Thanks Jerms for the advice. Do you think I should include all jobs I have had on my ASAP profile?

I'm not sure how well they match up what you put on the ASAP form with what you fill out on the e-QIP, but if you make it to panel selection, they look at what was on the ASAP to verify your experience. You are better off including everything.

So i just changed jobs before knowing that it could have some effect on my security clearance.

I called the security office to let them know whats going on and she basically told me that as long as it happened after i signed my e-quip they really dont care.

so everyone stop frieking out about employment!!

I know. I really wanted to have it over with... but we can't get by with me not working for several months and temp work is not to be had in Oregon (unemployment is 12.9%!)
It will be much less of an ordeal if I just resign and give everyone a date--- whether it gives them 6 weeks or two.

:o

My Hr department received the verification form yesterday. They mentioned it when I went in to grab my pay stub and said they had already filled out the seven bubbles and dropped it back in the mail. That was the end of the conversation. Hopefully the topic wont come up again until after the FOL arrives.

I tried to call my rep in OKC but out of the office all this week. I guess I will try next week sometime.

Does anybody know if there are negative consequences for getting fired from your current job after you have received a FOL and scheduled for the Academy?

I cant imagine there would be unless they contacted the FAA directly. Once they have that form back thats it. and I would have to imagine that alot of people get cut after their employer finds out they are leaving. I talked to mine this week and am interested to see how it plays out until July. hopefully I can hang on for a couple more months. And hopefuly they dont push my class date any further out.

Bossman just got his today. I went to get our department's mail (knowing it was probably coming soon) and saw it. I stopped dead in my tracks reading the return address information on that outer envelope, and my heart started racing. My boss has been great to me specifically, so it almost feels like I'm stabbing him in the back after two years, but at the same time, it's what I want to do.

I handed him the envelope, my heart still racing. He looked at it and saw the return address, and his eyes got as big as saucers -- apparently his first thoughts were that he was in trouble. I told him, "I think I know what this is. I think it applies to me." He opened it and took a quick glance at it, and said, "It does!" I just said, "It's for a security clearance," and headed back to my seat...

A few minutes later, my boss sends me an instant message asking if it meant I'd be leaving. I explained the process, and he even admitted to wanting to apply when he was 23, so he totally understands. He's filling out the paperwork and sending it back. I'm glad to have an understanding boss!
