Not all his points are good. Do you think you were able to upgrade at Colgan because it is the best place to work and most expensive feeder? No, pretty much the exact opposite. The CAL flying in Texas and future flying in Newark all helped the upward mobility of everyone on property.
You're absolutely right, I should have written "have helped and will help".Actually, that's incorrect....at least at the moment. Not one person has been removed from the line to go to the schoolhouse for the Q. In fact, the first class (8 people) isn't scheduled until mid-Sept. The first Q isn't scheduled to be on property until sometime in Dec. So, to say the CAL flying has improved upward mobility is absolutely not true.
Now in time, that may be the case....but for now it hasn't done squat for us.
No, I don't advocate taking paycuts for growth. We're not on the same page.
XJT placed 10 aircraft with Delta and 8 at risk with them. This tells me they placed them at a rate under their negotiated CPA with CAL. I wouldn't say they "secured" contracts, more like found a home. I doubt others will share this thinking but it's hard to dispute the facts. We're getting off the beaten path now.
As you know, our current contract (with CAL) does not allow us to give a more favorable deal to another carrier unless we give it to them as well.
You're absolutely right, I should have written "have helped and will help".
Instead of understanding the point, you like to nit pick. That's cool, I see how you roll.
Are you saying that the CAL flying in Texas has nothing to do with the movement you've had there? I'm referring to the approximate (couldn't find a press release) 10 a/c out of IAH in 2005. That represented what, a 25% growth? See my point?
Ohh boy.... In 6 months when are good olde Uncle Phil gets his hands on you guys its not going to be pretty. Sorry to all the guys that voted YES. At least everyone is hiring.... run now before its too late!!!!!
Whoa big fella.....instead of getting testy, you could've just said that's what you meant. I'm sorry you feel the need to be on the defensive here.
C'mon, it was nit pickyI was just pointing out a fact...not nit picking. Nothing more, nothing less. That's not how I roll.![]()
I'm not suggesting just you. I'm saying overall. Again, big picture here. C'mon man, keep up with meAlso, if you're suggesting the 10 a/c in IAH helped my career progress....you're absolutely correct, it enabled me to get hired here. But, it hasn't done much in terms of my advancement w/in the company. Until very recently, upgrades have been stagnant. Only because of the overall industry increases in hiring have the upgrades moved forward. In fact, in terms of recent company history, my class has been in the right seat longer than most, if not all classes.
And what are the words about Colgan pilots resigning?

Forgive my ignorance- but you absolutely truly believe that?
What exactly do you forsee happening? And what are the words about Colgan pilots resigning?
