Those who I know at HAL are awesome, and I imagine we are getting a pretty awesome pilot group. On that note, hopefully we can capture their contractual wins in the JCBA for all of us.

Around 85 I went through a full F/E course on my own dime cause I had a buddy at HAL who could walk in a resume. They were hiring lower time (1000 hr) guys to the DC8. I never heard a word. Talk about an alternate life/career had I got hired there. I'd still have two years to go.

I'm sure there will be changes, but when Alaska took over VX, they didn't promise the governors and senators of California and New York, as well as the federal government, that they wouldn't shrink or remove the operations there. I would kind of guess that if they ever want another federal approval of anything, they will at least make a good faith effort to minimize any damage.
