9L, 9E, XJ JCBA executive summary

Im not going to lose any sleep over DHD pay. It is better than we have now at CJC with 75% in the TA. As a lineholder I can say I deadheaded less than 5 times all of last year.

That issue along with the Saab rates was one of the last things to fall from ourside. The outstation aircraft/crew utilization is poor (for example...SYR-BOS-SYR for your whole day), so it would be very expensive to bring the outstation bases up to four hours min day. With the staffing requirements this contract drives, I would expect the outstations to close, the pilots get hub based and utilization per day to be above four hours.

Thanks Seggy. Here I am thinking thats a negative but if it forces them to make a BOS base than it becomes a big win for me and my QOL. That right there makes my vote "yes". There should have been a BOS base a long time ago.

All in all I like it, looks like life as a Colgan pilot is going to get a hell of a lot better. Great job JNC !!!

There's nothing here that says they need to have a BOS base. They could put 24 pilots in PQI and avoid the min day issue.

Just a question for the ewr Q guys. Are there a lot of Q guys waiting to bail on Newark? Think a lot of Q guys will bid out of Newark once the dust settles? I will trade you my DTW900 f/o spot for any Newark Q spot, lol.

I've been asking around and haven't found an answer yet:

Does this contain language for day rooms? I only ask because lately I've been scheduled for 6-8 hours of hot reserve in Boston and without a day room I'd shoot myself.

I'm a early 2008 hire and have been trying to get the hell out of EWR forever!!! Luckily I'm about to upgrade so I'm going home to Houston :insane: You can have EWR all to yourself!

Touche'.. Maybe *I* was reading between the lines.. It could happen.. Lately, every post I leave here seems to be attacked from multiple directions, so I am a bit on the defensive I guess.. ;) My demeanor is not near as "up yours" in person as it seems to come off on this board.. I have, just like all of us, an opinion and I don't mind sharing it.. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong.. I'm I'm right, I'm right.. Someone will let me know and I don't mind saying I was wrong..

That sounds French. Speak 'Murican! Homey don't play that game.

So your airline is due for death then.. :) 60 years old? Well past it's prime.. :D (All humor here..)

Hehe, nah that's hilarious. We're definitely the head of the geriatric parade.

I think you're right.. I think face to face goes much better.. No inflection on the internet and a simple statement can be taken to mean quite different than what it's intent was..

Yeah I think we are both direct and it sometimes gets flubbed.

Are you MEM based?

Yeah MEM based. Out in Bartlett. You're in Muscle shoals it looks like, you know Stacy over there?

At 4.5 hours (used to be 4 I thought but apparently it 4.5 now) you should be getting a day room. One for the two pilots and one for the two FA's. Or one in some cases. However, if there are separate sexes then they have to start giving out extras. All kinda goofy if you ask me.

Also I should mention that's Mesaba's current language

Wow. I'm going to end up a March 08 hire (started class in March, checkride in May) and I am barely a line holder at Pinnacle on the 200 in DTW. SLI is going to get interesting.

And to whoever asked about seniority in ATL. Pinnacle just closed a vacancy last week and I would have 2 people below me if I went there.

:) Ain't that the truth.

I'm actually in Florence, but we keep the -6 at KMSL.. It stays in the hangar directly in front of the where you guys park the Saab on the north end of the field..

Dunno any Stacy's..

I didn't expect many XJ or 9E guys to care about what happens to Colgan, but it's a shame to read what some of you are saying. Some of the details on the summary are outrageous. This is an absolute joke of a deal for any colgan guy. I don't understand the mentality of "a prop has never paid well, so we can't ask for more". We all know the plane does the same work, and paying a 74 seat plane less than a very unproductive and outdated 50 seat airplane shouldn't be accepted. Not to mention I personally stand to see a 50 cent raise in my hourly figure! 50 CENTS!!! Not quite the windfall that everyone kept preaching colgan would see. It just seems like there was a contract made for pinnacle and mesaba and then colgan got the left over scraps. I am embarrassed this made it out of the JNC.

He's a Mesaba -900 CA out there. What's the -6? (stoopid!)

LOL. Ok man.

You realize about 2-3 months from now YOU and all of "Colgan" is a Mesaba or Pinnacle guy right?

I feel like you scrolled down to page 18 & 19, then made your decision within a few seconds.

I agree. It seems that there are specific carve outs in this TA against the Colgan pilot group. Lesser pay for flying the same equipment; no min pay for the smaller outstation bases. Some people say that we will recover that when we upgrade, but that is going to be a far way off for most Colgan FOs. In the meantime we will be scratching out a living on these B-scale Saab rates. How is accepting a lesser pay scale raising the bar for the industry? What happened to Mesaba Plus? The other aspects of this TA are an improvement over the status quo, but the separate pay rates are a dealbreaker for me.
