Mid-air over Denver....

I recall the mighty metro being monocoque in design. You couldn't get the cargo door latch if the cargo wasn't positioned just right even with the plane being within CG because of the fuselage bow. An old freight trick was to rock the wings while someone else attempted to latch the door.

With that being said, I'm glad to see everything worked out ok.

Better trick was positioning a ladder underneath the last pallet to angle it to where the door would close. Really confused the Mexican forklift drivers in Saltillo.
 
The dude who felt it necessary to key up and report a bird, lulz. The freightdog sounded, as I believe was artfully suggested above, as cool as a cucumber smoking a camel. Bet he would have gained some octaves if he could have seen the back. I'd have sounded like a soloist for the Vienna Boy's Choir, for sure.
