Not defending her actions by any means, but a lot of those super smart genius types have literally no social skills at all,so his rushed answer to her may have came off suspicious to her. There was an ER doctor at a hospital we transported patients to..super smart guy,he could explain stuff that even other docs didn't understand.....but zero personality and social skills.

Kardashian was a big money lawyer before OJ. That trial just boosted him to the hyper money lawyer level.
Well he died over a decade ago and I have no idea how much money he may have had, but bejebus each of them lives in what many would describe as a mansion, use private jets for travel, mutliple expensive cars and who knows what all. Are they being paid that much for their idiotic tv show (which finally I watched 15 minutes of one episode and wanted to choke something after it) It makes me nuts that somehow anyone would find these people interesting and want to watch their escapades, let alone try to emulate them in some way. It just makes me wonder what the hell is wrong with people that seem to value this kind of crap. I understand there is a lot of garbage on tv, but there are also a lot of decent and worthwhile shows and the opportunity to learn something and be exposed to different things. I can't see the value of this entire Kimmy, Bimmy, Tinky, Pissy, whatever the hell their names are, thing.

Sadly the good shows are dying off because they aren't "reality" enough. MythBusters. Gone. Airplane Repo (the original one) Gone. Don't even get me started on the "Weather" Channel.

You really have to search around to find the good series and documentaries and specials. Weather channel still has a few, (like Coast Guard Alaska) but not as many as they used to have. If it weren't for the 3 National Geographic, channels, the 4 Discovery channels, the two History channels, the Travel channel, the various PBS channels, the Smithsonian channel, the Science channel, some of the Food channels and the crime/detective channels, the Military channel- well now called American heroes or some crap, NASA's channel. the BBC channel and the reruns of Top Gear, and being able to watch old episodes of some good shows form the 80's and 70's and 60's, lol, it's a wasteland. We spend more time listening to music and reading. I hope the Science channel keeps showing re-runs of Mythbusters. I just wish they would show re-runs of or make new episodes of Junkyard Wars. Used to love that show.

Live To Tell that was a series recently is excellent and Trailblazers is okay. Seems like you have to settle more for okay than terrific any more. Ugh.

Since I relocated to MSP and rent is a lot higher here I decided to forego cable/satellite to save some money, and so far I'm not missing it at all. I had DirecTV before and found that I was only watching maybe 10-12 channels out of the 150 or so I had. And yes,Junkyard Wars was awesome

I used to play MS Combat Flight Sim on my commute to DFW in the late 1990's.

I can only imagine the amount of paranoid butthurtedness that would occur if were to do that now.

"Uhh, flight attendant, there's a brown guy that looks like he's practicing for taking over an airplane".

Well there goes that idea of playing the new Flight Sim game I downloaded on my iPhone for my flight to PHX tomorrow. Sad times we live in

It says something to me when millions are apparently following the Kardashians. I mean who the hell are these people? Why should anyone have any interest in them whatsoever? They have no talent, none of them act, sing, dance, play a musical instrument, write...........nothing.What talents do they have? Have they ever really had a job? I am still trying to figure out where they got all their money from. I have never in my life seen such a bunch of self-indulgent, out of touch, out to lunch, self-absorbed, phony POSs. And none of them is even the least bit attractive. How much plastic surgery have they had? They have to be some the most dysfunctional people I have heard of. And with all their money, what charities do they help and why haven't they started any? They only thing they seem to know how to do, is market themselves.

... So, what you're saying is that you're one of the millions of people following the Kardashians...

And so? We have to now cater to nosy nabobs pestering a poor guy minding his own beeswax?

I like to tinker with stuff..real and model airplanes, ham radio, electronics and schooling in engineering and chemistry. I've got all kinds of bits and pieces and plain old stuff around the house. Back in the day, people would have labeled me "handy".

My neighborhood has a constant revolving door of residents. Should I expect a knock on my door from the buttinsky police because I don't buy them all "welcome baskets"?

BTW, B+ in diff EQ here and straight A's in 5 semesters of chemistry. I guess I'd better watch my six because I water my grass with plain old water and not sports drink.

Should I be worried because a "technically challenged" passenger sees the word "zombie" and thinks I'm staging a bioterror attack? :)

In 2012, while I was taxing out of DTW to ORD. We got a call and I was thinking to myself, this better be good. I always briefed the FA's not to call us during taxi unless it was important. My FO smiles immediately and hangs up. I ask him whats up, he says a pax wants to know if the pilot is Muslim, what do you want to do? I stopped the plane, pulled the parking brake and had to think for a second. I too smiled slightly, thinking if this was a good opportunity to have some fun. Quickly remembering carpet dances are no fun, I told him, without answering the pax question because its none of her business, that if she wants to get off, we can taxi back. By this time, ground was yelling at us for stopping on the taxiway and holding up the line. We had a United jumpseater in the back. He offered to sit next to her along with a mechanic and assure the lady I wasn't a threat. There's going to be idiots along all walks of life.

Just send everything over to /dev/null. What flavor of Linux is that? I used to run Slackware then switched over to OpenBSD in my geek days. I just ran out of time to tinker with that kind of stuff

Man, I used Gentoo, then I used Funtoo when the Gentoo Foundation butthurt became strong and drobbins rode to the rescue with git-enabled Portage. (Speaking of time sinks..."WHY AM I REBUILDING X11 AGAIN?")

I should really make one of these Windows boxen here a Linux box again.

See you have a unique perspective that 99% of people haven't thought about.

The problem that I have with people tolerating the "lowest common denominator" crowd because they 'just want to be safe' is they're not willing to codify it.

If you don't want people speaking Arabic or Farsi on airplanes, lets put on our big boy pants, codify it and fight it out in the court system.

Is math acceptable behavior? Absolutely. Is bringing it to the attention of a flight attendant if something makes you nervous? Absolutely.

But at some point, someone's got to hit the brakes and say "You've gone from an overabundance of caution to being completely irrational".

My dog, sometimes, is really convinced the UPS man is about to kill us and burn our house down and loses his cookies when the truck pulls up. Knowing it's the UPS delivery truck because I was expecting a package, do I go to my undisclosed location, grab the 9mm (sorry @Seggy! :) ) and confront him in the front yard? All because my dog doesn't have the intellectual capacity to separate his animal instinct of thinking "threat first" instead of accepting his primal, un-evolved bias toward aggressive protection and submitting to ration and reason? :)
