Pacific Wings/New Mexico Airlines

Anyone have any dirt on these guys? Pacific wings seems to operate on the islands but they own New Mexico airlines??

Looks like they're hiring FOs in New Mexico. Low requirements.

I'm looking for pay, QOL, ect...ect...

I assumed the worst from the little that I have heard. Always great to hear people's perspectives. That's why I love this site!

Thanks

PS

All of those threads are really old. Does anyone have recent info? If anything has changed?

If not then they are probably still garbage.

I highly doubt PW has made a 180 since those threads given the info...I wouldn't even consider that possibility. My advice is when you read stuff like that about a company, avoid it.

I agree with you.

My interest is more in this New Mexico airlines company. It's apparently the same company. But I'm curious as if this company is run separately. There's no info in the New Mexico one. Did pacific recently buy them?? Maybe they have a better management team and QOL than pacific. Just curious.

No, its the same company. I interviewed there once, glad it didn't work out. Had a buddy that went there, he got in, got some time and got out, IIRC.

One of their subsidiaries, Georgia Wings, flies a Caravan with spray painted "boots" in and out of ATL in the middle of winter.
Spray painted? Haha. Isn't that against some reg? I thought you have to be an a&p and use aviation paint?? Idk...I'm not an a&p lol

Friend of mine flew for Georgia Skies. Wasnt very happy with. Get some time and get out if your going for an SIC job. Captian position might be a little different.

I interviewed and decided it wasnt for me. Luckily it worked out. Got a ME job shortly after.

Sketchhhhh. Back in the day when commuter runs were actually a thing, were the majority of the operators terrible places then as well? (I'm too young to know)

I'm not exactly sure you understand.

The company "spray-painted" the leading edges of their Caravan to give the appearance that the aircraft is equipped with de-ice boots, when in fact it is not.

This alone should be enough to send you running in the opposite direction at warp speed.

From what I have heard/know....they prey on the desperate, young, inexperienced low time guys. Pay is really pathetic. MX is dodgy. Let's just put it this way, they have a history and it's not a positive one.
