Atlantic Southeast Airlines/ExpressJet

What would be described as "excessive checkride failures"? Has anyone on here been hired for either ASA or Express Jet with three failures?

The recruiter told us at the Fltops conference that if you have more than 2 checkride failures the review board will reject the applicant. So you could basically pass the interview and sim but once your application is sent to the review board with more than 2 failures they'll give the applicant the red light. Thats as of right now, maybe if this pilot shortage comes to fruition they'll start to become more lax on their policy.

They review your logbook while your are filling out a paper with all of the HR questions on it. You come to the interview with all of your checkrides tabbed so basically they just slip to those pages and look at the entries. He literally looked at my logbook for about 8 minutes.

So you're basically screwed from the airlines if you have 3 failures? Boy, talk about a life ruiner if you've been successful in your aviation career but had a rough training life.

Hey guys new here. Ive got an application in with ASA/Expressjet with just over 700 total and 200 multi and i also have 4 internal recs. What else could i do besides the ATP writen to get recognized for an interview? Ive been updating my app every few weeks. Also the appendum page for ASA on airline apps asks if you re in a full time flying position? What is considered a full time flying position? I work for the local FBO and instruct about 50 hours a month. Thanks for the help!

Other than doing what your doing, I'd reccomend going to a regional airline career fair. I went to the one in Dallas in May. After talking to the pilot recruiters they scheduled me for an interview in Atlanta on the spot. The one I went to was organized by www.fltops.com but there are others organizing similair fairs as well.

What do those cost?

Thanks for that info! I just logged on to airlineapps and they just announced that aero crew solutions is having a career fair in atlanta Sept 24. (near where i live) ASA/Expressjet are having on site interviews! The info says to email Dan from recruiting and he will send information for you to fill out and bring with you. Sounds like theyre still pretty short staffed!

The September 24 ATL fair put on by Aero crew solutions is $99 before sept 14. sept 15 the price goes to $129.

Does anybody know the upgrade times for ExpressJet?

Obviously nobody knows for sure. BUT what I can say is that when I was in the company overview/orientation part of the interview, one of the HR managers said as of right now the upgrade time is 2-3 but expect 4 years. Again, nobody knows for sure and alot of things change so you never can tell...

Interviewed on the 11th of July and have heard nothing since the congradulations email. I'm wondering if I should contact them again for an update. Everyone who interviewed with me has got the call for a class date already.

i would. cant hurt.

BajTheJino- Thats good to hear. Were you hired recently or years passed ? Was an exception made or are they still considering candidates with three failures?

Just got the email today from Fred at ASA inviting me up for interview! I just crossed 700 hours with 195 mlti, im guessing 700 is the magic number because i got the email about 4 days later. I had 3 internal recs also. Hope this info helps someone, i couldnt find any up to date info about what times people were getting hired with.

They are full of poo. There are both ASA and XJT guys on JC that are going on 4 years and can't even get weekends off yet.
