Flyjustin, I couldnt seem to get a pm sent through to you so here is what i experienced last week. if you have any more question feel free to ask.
This interview was fairly easy in my opinion; I crossed 700 hrs with 200 multi and got the call within a few days of updating my app. So not much more experienced than you. Something that did help me was i flew the profile that they told me to expect in the 737 FTD, at my local airports FTD for practice. if youre instrument proficient this will be no problem though; The interview was scheduled for 9am and the sim eval the next day at 950am. If you made it to the second day then youve obviously passed the interview process from the first day; all the interviewees met about 830 in the cafeteria(6 of us), at about 915 retiree comes down and says there is a meeting taking place in the conference room that we would be using. About 10 am they come and retrieve us to the conference room we all have a seat they collect our logbooks and all the copies they requested and all the paperwork you have filled out; you watch a presentaion about the compay as someone digs through your logbooks for about 30 minutes. next comes 30 question MULTIPLE CHOICE test about atp commercial stuff mainly, very easy i can elaborate more on this portion if you need. ; Everyone passed the test Next comes 8 question HR questionnaire "how would a relative describe you?" blah blah; The back of this had a topic to write a paragraph about ours was Whats the biggest issue with the airline industry at this time. I wrote about the price of fuel. Next the timed test- Nothing to be concerned with 50 questions 9mins Lowest guy finished 36 highest guy got 50, i finished 49. Its basically heres two numbers plot them on a x and y axis and read the number thats under there and then circle the correct answer on the answer sheet; We all passed this also. You Take 5 practice questions together so everyones on the same page. ( rumor is you must finished 30 questions correctly though they cant tell you how many nor can they tell you how much time is left during the test THAT was the scary part). We finished this took a lunch break and returned at 1pm went to the third floor and they called us individually for interviews. This is technically the interview/human resources/ tech portion; he asked me about the engines on the seneca i fly. and the electrical system. basically just said 12 volts two 65 amp alternators and 35 amp/hr battery, and to brief an approach plate (mine was asheville NC the other guys got a mexico approach plate somewhere where they repaint there planes) he said good if you fly the sim good tomorrow there is no reason you shouldnt get the offer; Sat around the waiting area waiting for the rest of the guys. One guy got sent home he had been flying in Saudi arabia for 14 months and just wasnt familiar with u.s. procedures. He was an american guy of course from charleston sc; Now we waited for the women from HR to fingerprint us and then send us to get drug tested. It ended up being about an 8 hour day, but if you take out the lunch break and all the waiting for each guy to finish this and that, then it only ends up being about 2.5 hours; Next day met at Delta HQ. Youre flying 737 FTD its probably 30 years old but very cool! So it doesn’t move and no outside reference just white opaque windows. You spend about 45 minutes briefing what he wants you to do. Then partner up and jump in the seat. Basically gives you the profile he wants and the power settings you’ll need and that’s it all you do is fly the plane and work the throttles. Your partner sets heading and speed bugs, centers CDI and so on. So takeoff rotate at 130 knots to 15 degrees pitch up at 1000agl the sim guy puts flaps up and you lower the pitch to 8degrees. (If at any time you forget pitch setting or power settings just ask your partner or the sim guy, partner also calls out 300ft to level off 10greees within heading Vr) continue climb at 8 degrees until 250kts then maintain 250kts level off at 5000. The climbing right turn to 8000 at 250kts. Then level off 8000 and still maintain 250kts. The key is TRIMMING the airplane!! Its easy if you can trim it out. He then gives you direct ATL vor and expect holding (your partner centers up cdi) head that direction and begin to slow to the proper airspeed for holding 230 kts at 8000. Mine was a teardrop entry. Told him that and then crossed the vor and told him to start time. I believe i was approaching from the northwest and told to hold on the 180 degree radial. Started the right turn to intercept the 180radial. And he said turn this heading for vectors for the ILS. Dsescend and maintain 2800ft. You bring power to idle and maintain your holding airspeed. Prob 4 or 5 minute descent so get your partner to align the course arrow with inbound course. Sim guys works flaps and partner works gear. Basically just flying ILS to 500ft agl. Then the ride is over. And like I said all power settings and speeds are given to you. He told us most everyone does fine in the sim so don’t worry about it. Youre not told if you pass or fail, just that we should hear something in about a week. I Think someone may have freaked out once because they used to offer you the job immediately. We all traded phone numbers to keep in touch and no one has gotten a call yet (we interviewed a week ago today) heard the review board is kind of backed up. Let me know if you have any more questions.. Do you have an interview scheduled?
