Atlantic Southeast Airlines/ExpressJet

I interview the 1st and 2nd and it took till the 21st to get the email that I have the conditional offer.

Interesting, sounds like you still got the job though, just waiting on a class date. I've heard that sometimes your paperwork can get held up if theyre waiting on a certain persons signature on the review board and that person is out flying the line. If you got the congrats email though it should only be a matter of time before you get your class date! Breathe in the good, breathe out the bad!

I got the interview successful email. Then last week I got an email that said "continue to build flight time and experience as you will be competing with others in the hiring pool for a future class date" I emailed them back for clarification but did not hear back:( I'm hoping this is the week that I'll hear the good news.

Hey anyone here in the August 8th class? I got the call about a week and a half ago. Curious to see who else is headed out to Houston

I will be down there. Just sent in my travel plans to the secretary. Other than August 8th and its in Houston, I know nothing. I hope I get that informational e-mail soon so I can start planning what I need.

DenverPilot did you choose First Available or did you choose the ASA or XJT side. If you chose just ASA you may be in the pool for awhile.

Thanks a lot there is a lot of good information in that write up. I am curious of the dress code, Im planning on Khakis and polo shirts.

oh yea almost forgot. Taught for 3 years at Western Michigan and a JET training course

Really? I'm currently teaching at Arizona State, I also went through our CRJ transition course and am PIC type rated. I was hoping that one of my buddies from ASU would be in class with me but that doesnt look like thats gonna happen. After reading that expressjet write up on the importance of getting a good roomate i.e. they'll probobly be sim partners with you I want to make sure I get a good one. Otherwise it seems if you dont know anyone before hand youre just put in a room with someone based on when you both arrive at the hotel. If you're interested in partnering up let me know, otherwise no biggie I'll see you in class!!

They just sent out an email saying that hiring is slowing down. Don't know wtf they are think, being that we're canceling flights due to lack of crews.

I don't think hiring is slowing all that much, at least on the XJT side. From what I've heard is they are having issues with people not showing up for classes or getting more qualified candidates.

For those trying to get an interview or waiting to hear, here is what the Review Board is looing for apparently:

* A great work ethic.
* Past 121 experience.
* Jet experience.
* Advanced Jet Training.
* Currently in a full time flying job.
* Currency of 100 hours in past 6 months or 50 hours for more experienced applicants.
* A GPA of 2.50 or better.
* Too many failed check rides, failed training at other airlines, termination of employment, DUI or too many traffic violations lessen their chances of being hired.

* A great work ethic. I'm screwed.
* Past 121 experience. Boned.
* Jet experience. Screwed.
* Advanced Jet Training. Nope, screwed.
* Currently in a full time flying job. Aha! A chance!
* Currency of 100 hours in past 6 months or 50 hours for more experienced applicants. More chances!
* A GPA of 2.50 or better. Doh! Failed out of college more or less.
* Too many failed check rides, failed training at other airlines, termination of employment,
DUI or too many traffic violations lessen their chances of being hired. This looks good at least.

Well I guess I'm out of the running. I even had some lowlife write me a decent recommendation too. Schucks. ;)

By the way. Kick ass avatar!!! What's her name?

Fixed it for you.
Plenty of Fo's in Chicago from what I can tell. Lots of Fo's not flying more than 20-30 hrs the past couple of months.

Really? They need to come down to IAH, lots of flying and I think everyone I know sitting reserve has been getting calls almost every day (myself included).

I also have a buddy with an internal rec get an email telling him he's got an interview once he has 50 hours multi, so that may be a hard min.

What would be described as "excessive checkride failures"? Has anyone on here been hired for either ASA or Express Jet with three failures?
