when this storm rolled through?

Company put us up in a hotel for a couple of nights due to the ice.
Thus I haven't been home in couple of days.

Here is a MDW Metar from earlier today

Gotta love TS and GS (mini hail) all at once - probably won't see that again anytime soon.

In Phoenix, complaining about the wind and 28 degree low it got down to last night..... :laff:

wicked metar btw

I've been at home, thinking to myself, "SNOWMYGOD! I CAN'T BELIEVED IT SNOWED! IT'S NOT LIKE I LIVE IN MICHIGAN WHERE IT SNOWS!!!! AHHHHH!!!!!"

Then, I did one of these:

And then I jumped in my SUV and said, "Oh right, we need about another 20 inches until I'm stuck..." and went on my merry way.

I was working overtime last night and drove home through it. Woke up this morning to a 20 foot long, 4 ft deep drift all the way across my driveway, which I had to shovel in the dark at 0430 so I could get back to work. Michigan ROCKS! :sarcasm:

I ended a two day trip and was flying in that crap. Houston to Indiana. Actually it wasn't too bad. Picked up freezing rain and crud on the approach. Runway was surprisingly decent with 1" of ice and snow. The airport put down a ton of hot sand though.

I opened one eye to a particularly large gust of wind, ascertained that the sky was still clear and temperature still well above freezing...and then went back to sleep.

I was/am in Saginaw, MI.

Nothing like a 3 day trip with a blizzard thrown in the middle. Not as bad as MDW but still craptastic.

At home in Arkansas. We got about 7" of snow which is pretty extreme for this part of the country. Our little town only has one plow and they don't use salt on the roads. I haven't seen a plow yet. I sold my snowblower before I moved here (DOH!) so this morning I shoveled about half of the driveway. Will try to get the rest after lunch so that I can get out IF they ever do get to the roads before spring. It's about 12 degrees F right now -- fortunately light winds. We kept power the whole time which is good. I have a small gas generator which is just about good enough to run the furnace fan on my gas furnace.

The major airport (XNA) closed mid-day yesterday but I believe it's open again today. The general aviation airports (including our domicile) have been closed for a few days with NOTAMS such as these:

Was suppose to fly in a Great Lakes today but the sissy owner cancelled on me. Okay, so there is a 6" snow drift in my back yard and El Paso has come to a standstill.

At DCA trying to get to DFW for my interview with Eagle.. Mother Nature won, interview was rescheduled.

ATC academy canceled two days in a row. Have seen four movies on DVD and uncountable episodes of House Hunters on HGTV.

We got 10" or so -- a lot for OKC.
