KSTL NOW CLOSED

Talking with some people over there now, said a plane with got some altitude on the ramp. Scary stuff. Reports of the roof ripped off the SWA terminal (A) too.

Incredibly scary...has anyone been able to verify the whereabouts of an JC members in the STL area or flying though STL?

Heard that a AA plane at C-12 got moved to C-10 by the wind....that's SCARY.

Southwest is in the East Terminal. There is a report that there is a gas leak. Concorse C (American) has the most damage at the airport.

Local news channels are saying that windows are blown in at the main terminal, and concourse C. Light poles are bent sideways. There is a parking garage shuttle that is dangling off the side of the top of a multi story parking lot. I havent heard anything about the roof being ripped off or an AA plane being moved. There was baseball size hail at my house. Ill keep you guys posted as they start to learn more.

Wow. I was driving north on 57 from Carbondale through the leading edge of this. Glad that nobody was hurt too badly and kind of curious to see how well they have the place fixed up when I fly out of there next week.

That storm is incredible! Hopefully all the damage is repairable and there isn't too much damage to the aircraft parked there!

I'm supposed to connect through STL in two weeks. Hopefully they'll make some significant progress in clean-up by then.

Wow, all we got here in IND was a few rumbles of thunder [thankfully].

STL is looking pretty beat up!

How will the media spin this. ATC loses separation with Tornado, slams into airport? Controller reportedly distracted by second controller required to be in tower?

On a side note, glad everyone is safe.

Just did a STL turn yesterday right before this happened. We delayed our arrival to let the first set of storms pass, got in and got out. Now my mother-in-law is stuck at my house in DEN and can't get home. Ahhhhh!

Seriously though, hope everyone was ok from this. Also bummer for Concourse C occupants, they have been renovating for quite some time and will probably have to redo a bunch of work.

Yikes!

Some of my extended family lives in Marion, IL not far from Carbondale. Some property damage in Marion, but looks tame compared to Saint Louis.

Tornados, earthquakes, floods, oh my!

I really want to see if there are any tapes out there showing something like this at STL:
