The NMB has to release you before you're legally able to strike.

Isn't everyone pissed off enough for some of these stages to come about? Yeah they are flying their arse off and getting paid for it but how long can slaves take the abuse until they retaliate against their master?

No.. everyone here is not pissed off enough.. Plenty of the SJSer's are just happy to be cloud-blasting...

That and the senior CAs love the 200% for open time.

The health insurance concessions the company wants are radically INSANE. You want me to give you that much of a break on insurance, fine. But you better pay me enough to where I at least break even. The piddling pay raise they offered on the last TA wouldn't even come close to that if we agreed to their insurance proposal. At the end of the day, we'd be taking home LESS money than we are now. If this latest development doesn't get those senior guys and junior SJSers in mood to burn this place down, I've lost all hope on ever doing it. In fact, I'd bet that if we DID strike, a good number of them would cross the line.

I am curious about the "pending comprehensive pilot availability package with an increase to the reserve call out time" and the details therein.

I've got to admit, I have always tried to have a positive attitude, but I am now even starting to believe after the latest update that the management here is just plain hostile. I have never in my life worked at a place that has puzzled me as many times as here. I still am trying to maintain my personal commitment to enjoy every day, but it is a constant struggle around here. Just trying to keep it real.

I know I'm probably just too naive, but some here truly need to take a course in human resource management. They just come across as totally clueless. I'm not one to always need positive reinforcement all the time, or very often at all, but at some point human nature kicks in. When I think about it, I have never once in the time I have been here ever been told that I was either doing a good job or that I was appreciated, either through words or deeds. I work hard, try to better myself everyday, try to show care and respect to my fellow employees and even the company, and I have never gotten anything in return except for carpet dance meetings to explain myself for why I wasn't able to work on my day off for the third time in a single month. At what point do hard work and reasonability cross? I don't know, but many times it feels we have passed it.

Here at Atlantic Southeast our President sends his thanks to ALL the workers for keeping our completion factors on-time and on-point almost every week. It's the little things that matter I suppose.

Those things are nice, that being said unless there are actions to truly SHOW they are thankful for our work, they're just empty words. The kind of staffing issues we've had are unforgivable. You can't ask us to work as hard as we're working and then make us look bad by not having enough people for us to do the job correctly.

That being said, they're working on fixing that now with the recalls. This airline has always had a problem with foreseeing problems. Instead they just wait until the problem presents itself and then put the fire out.

You mean you never put in for a trip drop/swap and got the denial e-mail that says "Thanks for all the you do?" :)

At this point, they can thank me all they want. Talk is cheap. I've had PT tell me thanks for coming to work on Xmas. I said "Sure." but what I really wanted to say was "Like I had a choice. If I was legitimately sick, you wouldn't believe me unless I had a doctor's note. What doctor's office is OPEN on Xmas? You would assume I'm playing hooky, and you'd dock my pay and send me nasty letters. Oh, but if I DO bring a dcotor's note it still counts against me per the attendance policy." It's gotten to the point now if I even SEE one of our illustrious managers, I just walk the other way. If they talk to me, I'm more likely to say something that'll get me fired.....

Speak your mind! At least I will move up another number! :D

If the company wants us to do something good, then they need to stop breaking out the beating stick every time they want something from us. Everyone says they are only further solidifying the pilot group against managment, but I think otherwise. It seems to me that managment is beating us down so far that we will eventually accept whatever offer they give us with the hope that things will improve (new attendance policy comes to mind) only for things to remain the same but under some type of "consessionary" agreement.

Something needs to give and give soon.

"CLOUD BLASTING! THE SPORT YOU YOU'LL INVENT BECAUSE YOU'LL BE TOO ENERGETIC FOR NORMAL FLYING!!!"

Dear god. Now our management's gonna replace Coke with Riddle Thirst. Then we'll fly abnormally fast to make sure we're within A-14......

I don't plan on drinking any Riddle Thirst any time soon. I have almost 5 hours tomorrow that is all EXT pay... Hope the captain understands there is a huge need for us to fly at LRC all day. Sucks we have to go to YYZ on the day the G20 Summit starts :(

Isn't it the end of the month? REFUSE!!!!

I had 21 hours of YYZ last night. Nice to have a Cuban on the patio while all the foreign "big wigs" flew over.

Well, it was a 125% JA that I managed to get turned into an extension at 150%. Wasn't too crazy about deadheading back to MEM only to have a 520 show to deadhead up to MSP. Got them to agree to flying me over to MSP from DTW rather than the two deadheads and minumum rest. Besides... I need to build up a couple of comp days for later in the year (read Vegas... if possible )
