Eagle Interview

On some of the gouges I have seen some questions that relate to oxygen requirements, and alternate airport requirements, so to you guys that have done the interview are they looking for prt 91 or 121 answers?

Pt. 91, unless you have 121 experience and they specify they want the 121 answer.

Hehe. Ah Zap. Demanding a higher standard. WTF is wrong with you man?

I don't think he's saying "let's raise the standards!" as much as he's saying that they are making it extremely easy to study for these rides and not testing our ability to think on our feet as much as memorize procedure.

I interviewed last week, March 3rd. The questions up top are spot on. Know the defintions of V speeds as it relates to the 121 world. But everything else was spot on. Tech interview lasted about 40 mins. HR lasted about 30mins, of which 20 mins was spent on going over your paperwork. Oh, my HR was done by a pilot which kinda surprised me. The sim was pretty straightforward. There was 6 of us, and 3 of us got the sim profile out of Memphis and the other half got a sim profile out of LAX. I can't stress this enough, USE THE INSTRUCTOR FOR EVERYTHING!!! Have him set your power, altitude, heading bugs, courses, EVERYTHING. You should just concentrate on maintaining altitude and headings.

Good luck to those that apply. Out of 6 of us, 3 of us made it to the medical the next day. I guess now I just gotta wait for the captains board, which they said could be awhile. Oh, all 6 of us had some sort of internal recommendation. Guess with so many applicants, that's the only way they are weeding out the applicants. Hope this helps!

No it doesnt help at all, just makes it more depressing since some people don't know anyone at some companies. It's going to be a long road to find a job.

Unfortunately, when the job isn't even posted on their careers website that's about all you can expect.

So that begs the question:

- more hiring than expected

or

- less applications than expected

Either way, sounds good for those looking.

I really doubt it's the latter! I'm sure they have tons of apps, and it seems that they are being as picky as they want.

It's not a lack of applications. Word is they're getting deluged with them.

Makes me wonder- how many 'meet the specified mins', etc. It seems like they're looking for a certain kind of candidate. I'm not sure what that is.

From a friend that attended WIA - over 2000 applications were already received.

Which begs the question, with 2000 applications, why can't Eagle find enough pilots?

Any ideas?

We seem to be interviewing at a steady clip. I guess with the choice of applicants, it's not that they can't find enough, but that they can't trim down the pile fast enough.

Referrals would seem to help the process, no? If a pilot on staff vouches for somebody, that at least says, "Hey, this pilot gets along with somebody we've already got on board. That's a good sign."

That's the best I can come up with. I haven't talked directly to recruiting.

Do you think MAYBE they could come up with some more creative scenarios than "the Captain shows up drunk in the crewvan?"

Come ON hiring people. We've been using the same scenarios for 15+ years now! Be creative.

haha its been well more the 15 years... but until about 15 years ago and depending upon the carrier your flying for the correct answer may be... 1. Access the situation (aka how drunk is he? did he just smile act jolly and slap the flight attendant's {stewardess back then:D} butt but not stumble too much... or is he sloppy)

2. Depending upon how drunk on number 1, apply the appropriate amount of coffee needed

3. Looks like your flying this leg...

I interviewed recently and it was almost identical to CRJ Drivers. WillFlyForFood pretty much sums the interview up also.

When it comes to this business, referrals weigh alot.

I have walked in resumes from people I met only over JC and never in person. Mind you I had other people give me the thumbs up that knew those persons personally.

A negative attitude really isn't going to help, and there are quite a few people on here from eagle who probably don't mind "paying it forward."
