Did you ever get clarification on why you need to pay for a 135 sic checkride, when you won't be a legal pilot on the 135 legs?
The CP wasn't in today will try to give my friend a call up though.

I think that is the most important question to ask.Did you ever get clarification on why you need to pay for a 135 sic checkride, when you won't be a legal pilot on the 135 legs?

If you are just a box on the 135 legs, then why do you need a ride for the part 91 legs?????
Seems to me like they actually need SICs for the 135 legs and are just trying to find people dumb enough to pay for that instead of actually hiring and paying qualified pilots.
Then why the checkride?I know for a fact that they don't need the SIC's.
So the people that don't do their homework ahead of time get a warm fuzzy feeling? Then why the checkride?
Then why the checkride?

Even though I think they aren't using it now because of the hiring/ furlough situation, look to Airnet's SIC model as the standard to judge other 135 SIC programs.
AT Airnet SICs DO NOT:
Pay for Training.
Pay for Checkrides.
Only fly 91 Legs.
They DO:
Get paid a duty rig.
Get a 135 checkout.
Fly any leg except the first one per the discretion of the PIC.
While 99% of the time they are not needed in the airplane, the company (non union) decided to invest in these pilots by paying them anyway.
No idea - it was there way before my time but I don't know if it goes back that far. Maybe some of the old timers know the answer to that one.Did Jerry start that?
Or did the AirNet SIC program come after he left?
:yup:Hey it just wouldn't be a thread of mine if it didn't go flamebait 8 different ways, go at least 10 pages long, at least 4 people get warnings, and end up in the lav sooner rather then later.

If you have the money right now, you're better served SAVING IT in this economy. Not dumping it into some dead-end PFT/PFJ scheme. Give me a break.
Dear Baby Jesus Christ. . .
Some of you people are off your damn rockers it is absolutely amazing!
Once again, qualified professionals are making a significant attempt to hold themselves to a certain standard. Why not join the good fight and get on the winning team instead of being part of the damn problem?
