XJT AIP

What contract are you reading? The one I read showed gains in healthcare costs and for some losses in pay and 401k.
I was referring to what ASA would see from contact, from reading and actually have a friend (and ALPA XLT member) tell me that for ASA it is a improvement. I'll be glad to hear that ASA isn't pleased with it too.

Well, your 'friend' has no idea what he is talking about. This TA is complete crap. There are a couple minor improvements (4 weeks vacation at 10 yrs, no call for release rsv) and major concessions (vacation language, PBS changes, etc)

Saying this is an 'improvement' for ASA is the same as me saying this is an 'improvement' for XJT because your pay will go up a few cents/hour.

At hotel breakfast this morning an ASA crew was talking. "Expressjet pilots get to much 'fluff' time, they cost the company too much money." I hope this isn't a common attitude over there...

These two MECs are playing directly into the company's hands and they don't even see it.

Voted up or down, this is not going to end very well.

Management knows its as simple as stealing candy from a baby. All you need is 2 or more pilot groups pitted against each other and you simply sit back and watch them squabble like kindergartners at recess. It's in Chapter 31 - Mergers of the text How to Run a Staffing Company that Flies Airplanes.

No, I think you heard him wrong. I think he said he wants you guys to be our fluffers in our next contract. Not an unreasonable request I think :-p

Look, each side has their people that are bat poop insane. Painting an entire group with the opinion of what one idiot said on the hotel van at 4am is beneath you.

Oh, so that's what is really going on at that end of the Company...

No kidding.

Pilots are pilots first. A warm nod and a handshake and a "how are you?" is the expected behavior. I personally don't have time to engage in the SKW-XJT-LASA pissing contest (in person, anyway - Internet pissing contests don't count), as I have bigger fish to fry.

Did the MEC give it a favorable recommendation or did they send it out without a recommendation?

Many of our pilots have expressed concern with the slow degradation of the industry, hoping that we will not engage in a “race to the bottom.” While this agreement does not contain the significant gains we all would have hoped for, it “holds the line” and avoids the draconian cuts we have seen within other regional contracts.

That's about all the union has said about it.. They haven't really scared us into a Yes vote using the "if you don't vote yes you'll be furloughed" line yet.

I don't know man, some of the stuff my new hire classmates have heard in the IAD crewroom is right in line with what I heard at breakfast. You need to educate your people, breh.

Well in fairness to your MEC (which I can't stand)....Pilots within ALPA bitch they can't elect the President of the organization directly, but then bitch when the MEC gives Pilots the choice for their future.

Please. Tell me more about my crewmembers that I work with every day.

Don't get me wrong, we do think you're a bunch of nancies for the whole "we want to keep our line bidding" tantrum. But that's water under the bridge.
