What have you done to further your career today?

I like the question on the first page:

"Are you now, or have you ever been a Fighter Pilot?"

Well that certainly narrows it down.
Note how it's on the same page as the places where I check "prefer not to say."

I guess they really are their own race.

Don't take my post the wrong way. After working on lots of airplanes I'm pretty sure fighters have the least amount redundancy because they aren't built to be safe, they're built to fight. T-38s are a good example, zero mechanical reversion for flight controls, lose hydraulics you punch out.

I would fly the (expletive) out of one of those airplanes if anyone will let me.

Whatever you're in, fly it well.

I'd say that they have more redundancy than almost any other airplane out there. You HAVE the option of punching out if stuff breaks.

Airplanes seem to be "either/or" in this category. You either have redundancy, or the ability to leave in a hurry, not both. In a fighter, you get one of everything, including a Martin-Baker product. In a piece of Canadian awesomeness, not enough room for everyone to get a Martin-Baker product, so the systems have redundancy.

I also made an awesome roasted salsa, crockpot cooked a beef/lentil stew, downed a bottle of wine, and shouted a stream of expletives when I lost miserably at a Call of Duty Deathmatch.

Furthering my career is exhausting, but fun!
