I am not at all concerned with the Majors ability to hire folks. None of the studies I've seen account for any type of recession, and I think the next one is around the corner.

I don't disagree with this. If you look at recent history, they've been happening roughly once a decade and typically around the time a new president is elected. The last one was in 2009, so we're about due for one.

7 year cycles. I'm hoping for a year or two more of good times so I can move up the seniority list enough to hang on for a rough ride.

I've heard some WACKY sh@t in my airline tenure (sorry Derg, "stuff" just doesn't cover it). I mean some serious "WTF, O?" stuff repeated by captains, line check airmen, chief pilots, FAs, mechanics...all kinds of weird stuff.

The last few years I've been marginally more informed, and it hasn't gotten any better, just more amusing.

You want to get the straight dope on what's happening? Ask the guys who paint the stop lines at the gates. They know everything first.
