Virgin America Hiring

Oh here we go...Thank you NYker....
Yes, of course I almost forgot earthquakes and let's throw in the everyday VOLCANO!! So now everyday, while Im driving the 53 hours from my tiny 2 billon dollar doghouse to my schittee job at SFO, I have to be super careful of all the hot LAVA oozing from the giant crevasses that are everywhere here. As for the actual earthquakes, we don't mind the shaking too much...it counts as our daily aerobic workout. And one good thing is doghouses are earthquake proof.
It's all good Dude.

...disclaimer...I do not work at SFO, however, I have driven there more times than I can remember.
Like the lava and the earthquakes and the doghouse...It was all a hypothetical.

I apologize if anyone may have thought they were missing out on earthquakes, hot lava, or exorbitantly high rents.

For what it's worth, as a native New Yorker, I must say the Bay Area is quite nice and livable. Shun the haters! [emoji6]

I had a virgin captain walk-in my resume that he "supposedly" gave to the DX manager himself. Still no word. ..

Well the posting is still up, maybe they won't start making calls until its closed? Still, seems very difficult to get into.
Keep us posted and good luck.

Any idea if he likes it there? I know the area is very expensive, just wondering what QOL is like at VX?

He was hired as an internal himself; been with VX over 5 years. He likes it, says the people are great. You're right that SFO is expensive, hence the reason they start you off at $60k+. Depending on your lifestyle that can keep you afloat or keep you on a ramen noodles diet. All depends on you.

Same can be said everywhere. 60k is extremely livable in SFO.
Definitely liveable----in an apartment you get to share with some rowdy cockroaches! Don't kid yourself, 60K in the Bay Area is like getting paid 30-35 in Wisconsin.

I lived like a king on 35k in Wisconsin

It's really unfair to give a general opinion on what's enough money to live on. Let's face it, everyone doesn't have the same circumstances. $35k might be a heavens dream to a single person without a parrot on a stick but on the other end of the stick probably won't leave anything left after living expenses for a head of household with a family. It really all depends on you and your circumstance.
