United and American?

All of the old rules are out the door. I’ve been half expecting something like this for a little while now. Additionally, it seems like the airlines haven’t been too enthusiastic about developing new technology the past 50 years; there’s very little other direction they can go to remain viable into the future without a significantly reduced amount of competitors. Unless of course they start innovating again like the period between 1940 and 1970.

And the liveries must be such. And fleets need to include Lockheed Orions and Stearman C3's (although any square tail Stearman is acceptable).

Airlines merging? It's Trumps fault!!! Booooo!! Booooo!! I've grown to appreciate the hoops the left will jump through to make any situation political, it shows a certain kind of creativity, I think those efforts are wasted and laughable but I can applaud them from afar. Don't clap back, these are enormous corporations that don't really care who's in power, they just make moves to increase their stockholders dividends so the board members don't get fired. It has absolutely nothing to do with politics. I find it very odd that many folks here that denounce capitalism work for publicly held companies and invest in publicly traded retirement funds. It's just another reason why I doubt the sincerity of the virtues people on the left express, they'll spit on a cop and join an online Luigi Mangioni support group but that's their public face. When no one is looking they're checking online to see if their retirement account is keeping up with the their plans for a cabin in the woods, a beach house and a sailboat. I want all of those things for all of those people, if they've been responsible and invested wisely why would anyone be angry. But that's the rub, folks that haven't worked hard, been responsible and invested wisely watch the inter webs and think they're owed that lifestyle. EBT or SNAP isn't going to buy a house next to a lake when you get old, you're just going to whither away in an apartment with no A/C and the cat you thought was your friend will eat you. I've met and dealt with a few billionaires and the absolute rule is if they came from a disadvantaged upbringing they are probably honest, fair and generous. If they inherited the money I'd avoid them unless I absolutely had to talk to them. The overwhelming majority of the very tip of the sword of wealth in the US are people you've never heard of. I actually appreciate the fact that those folks keep their head down and stay out of the news.
