United and American?

All of the old rules are out the door. I’ve been half expecting something like this for a little while now. Additionally, it seems like the airlines haven’t been too enthusiastic about developing new technology the past 50 years; there’s very little other direction they can go to remain viable into the future without a significantly reduced amount of competitors. Unless of course they start innovating again like the period between 1940 and 1970.

If this happens then Delta is buying JetBlue, Alaska and Southwest simply out of spite.
Spite merge would be epic. We could call it Latte Larry’s Air.

Possible names :
Varney Speed Lines
Western Air Express

And the liveries must be such. And fleets need to include Lockheed Orions and Stearman C3's (although any square tail Stearman is acceptable).

I'm sure that's their strategy too.

Under any other administration, I'd say no chance in hell. But who knows with these guys.

Hypothetically speaking, if this were to happen, I'd have to imagine there would be a lot of divestures in areas where both airlines already dominate - like Chicago.

You off your meds again? Nobody made this thread political. You did old man.
It's always political here. I haven't forgotten my once a day blood pressure pill in over a year. It's telling that "off your meds" has found it's way into common parlance. I'm unsure when it started but anyone with a doctorate started prescribing SSRIs like candy for anyone that was having a bad day. The problem with SSRIs is they effectively rewire a persons brain to "feel good" and once the patient "feels good" they stop taking the SSRIs and get into some very abnormal behavior such as shooting up schools or, as it personally effected me, they kill themselves. I'm not on any psych meds and I will refuse to take them for the rest of my life. You want me to take drugs because I disagree with you? I haven't touched an illicit substance since I was 18 and I'm not going to start now.
