UAL MEC unanimously voted for strike authorization vote

I have faith in our current MEC, but could you imagine if after all this they came out with Tumi 2.0.... 18 months of work, we heard your voices. We're proud to announce, you get the suitcase AND a Tumi flight kit!

I got a free Tumi from my company. You guys do realize that it’s effectively a cost-free item because the manufacturer will send you thousands for free to tell the general public, “See, flight crews use ‘em!” Live TravelPro did for their utterly inferior bags. Tumi’s are certainly nice but I would have rather purchased my own so I had some sort of control over the features.

Pay me and give me some semblance of QOL and I’ll handle buying my own bag. We good? Cool.

Absolutely, actually the company already has thousands lying around already as they give them to our FAs already.

It’s the next step in the process, a PR play, but a play none the less.

Nah, you put out a strike vote to the membership when in mediation to bring additional pressure to the company. When statements like this are being made, "The good news is we have closed out more items in the last week than in the several preceding weeks", you don't put out a strike vote.

Yeah, if actual progress is being made the smart move is to keep that strike vote in your holster. Authorizing the strike vote in the first place strapped the holster on.

Although the number of open items has been whittled down, there will be no agreement this week.
