Trip meals

Its like feeding a stray cat on the porch. Leave a little food out one day and they keep coming back, expecting you to leave more out.

Plus there is nothing like walking onto the plane on leg 1 with a new cabin crew, your Starbucks in hand, and a FA say "Oh, thanks for bringing some for us."

When I go to Starbucks, its a grande black coffee, thats it. I would be happy to buy the rest of the crew a coffee from time to time, but apparently im the only one left who drinks regular coffee. Its simple math...

$6 lattes + 4 or 5 FA / 1st year pay = No Bueno

I used to do that at Colgan and it felt good to treat... I did that for my transpac crew due to it being habit while we had a delay... ooops! (grande frappppp x 10 FAs at airport prices!)

I saw this on Facebook:

You put your dressing at the bottom, and then all of your other stuff, like meats and cheeses between the dressing and the lettuce, to keep it from getting soggy. Then, you just shake it an eat it.

Sorry to Necropost. I’m going to try and bring food for a few trips and see how it goes. Here’s what I have so far. Any other ideas for things that are easy to pack, relatively healthy, etc?

The only thing that pisses me off more than irons being used for cooking is bathtubs that back up. Nothing worse than ironing a shirt with someone else’s grilled cheese.

@ZapBrannigan consider bringing apples. They don't need to be refrigerated and some varieties are pretty durable (Gala is what I eat - good balance of bruise resistance and taste. Honeycrisp are too fragile). Of course, if you can handle the mushy taste of Red Delicious you can just grab them out of the bowl at the hotel.

Fuji’s stand up to bruising too.

Athought Id caution using the coffee pots, I heard somewhere that an FA once used the coffee maker in their room to wash clothing.

I've heard panties and/or piss throughout the years, re: coffee makers. I don't know if its just urban legend or truth but I choose to believe the former.
