“If you jump on my shift, that’s just rude, man.”
"Were you a Brasilia FO before?" was a diplomatic way of sizing up new Captains.Lol. Yeah it's amazing, how quick it goes.

Hehe, you can always tell a guy with a lot of tprop time. Our company had some Saabisms that would make it into autopilot usage on the rj, otherwise having a prop guy is a boon."Were you a Brasilia FO before?" was a diplomatic way of sizing up new Captains.
The difference between "what's it doing now" vs. "oh, there, it's doing THAT again" can be significant for the operation.Hehe, you can always tell a guy with a lot of tprop time. Our company had some Saabisms that would make it into autopilot usage on the rj, otherwise having a prop guy is a boon.
Ive said that on my current type, old vnav, older than you probably. Definitely got some prop left in my old bones and brains. The difference between "what's it doing now" vs. "oh, there, it's doing THAT again" can be significant for the operation.
$42/hr for a CA is a slap in the friggin' face. Just saying.
Negative, this rate would be for flying as an FO only. It's basically a blended rate of CA and FO pay. When in the left seat, the CQFO would be paid the CA hourly pay. This same program was used at GoJet.
Again, I have not seen any firm details myself, yet, but it sounds like you're describing what I hear Southwest does. "Lance Captain", it's called?
Expressjet still flies 135s?
I actually did this as a Brasilia FO this summer at the current employer.
"What...what...where did all my Captain and LCA friends go?"

They do that to new captains here at RAH, except you are paid the captain rate. We get guys upgrading and then basically sitting right seat in the Q. I can understand people having issues with this, but what really concerns me is the fact that the airlines don't have to give you full training to sit in the right seat. People who've never flown the plane before could be sitting right seat on day 1 as captain, and never have been evaluated doing it, just given the minimum amount of time in the sim.
Anyone care to speak on their typical trips? You seeing a mixed bag of everything or are 4 day trips common? Looking for specifically out out of IAD.
ERJ135s? I was certain this was a post from 2004.
Screaming_Emu said:That "blended rate" is less than I'm making as an FO. Tie in good work rules and throw in an extra 30% of soft time and you'll see why I'm in no hurry to go to Trans States.
This looks like the beginning of the end of low 1st year pay in the Regional industry. Simultaneously, it also looks like the beginning of the end of senior regional pilot groups.
And you fly a CRJ...no reason to be running to the exits just yet unless its for a better gig all around.
ATL or DTW when the time comes though?
