Talon pilot arrested for being drunk.

While the accused pilot was at the Grand Traverse County jail awaiting arraignment, Talon Air has already fired him — and praised Capt. Manny Ramirez for sounding the alarm.

"We are very proud of Captain Manny Ramirez' immediate action in detecting the co-pilot's condition and removing him from his position," the company said in a statement. "This is yet another example of Talon Air's safety procedures working effectively on behalf of our clients and for airport safety. The individual in question has been immediately terminated."

And why did Hero Captain Manny Ramirez let it get to the point that the drunk FO had just completed the flight??

El Captain is going to have some slashed tires or something.

This is interview question 101. "What do you do if your co-worker comes to the hotel van in a skirt/ drunk/ wearing makeup....?"

The answer, btw, to any hypothetical question, whether it be from a recruiter, a friend, the FBI, whatever: "He seemed ill. I encouraged him to call in sick." I'm not a breathalyzer, nor do I want to be expected to become one in the course of my normal duties. I'm not a Fed, an Attorney, or an expert on substance abuse. I'm also fairly certain I wouldn't get in to the van, let alone the airplane, with a guy who would blow a .30 AFTER WE LANDED. Manny is definitely NOT the guy of the hour in this, AFAICT.

Thanks, I was genuinely curious.

I'm amazed he was able to stand upright. .30 is pretty up there...
