Talon pilot arrested for being drunk.

I think someone got into the methyl esters.
I should explain this. I was researching my ancestors. One was a knight and the cousin of William the Conqueror and was with him in 1066 during the Norman Frank invasion. I'm at least 1/2 Frank Poole (genes that is), then there's George the 'immigrant' Dillard, Wallace and Wilbur Orvis the Celt. Orvis is pronounced 'Erving' or 'Ervine' in Manx. Great Grandma Orvis was blind her whole life. She had memorized the entire Bible by the time she died. I got some really fascinating grandfathers and grandmothers. I hit dead ends in the research. Some of the males were freemasons.

Still another was a master fletcher in the Office of Ordinance in the North, that is, Scotland. In 1490, (Rukard Stoddard) they had a 400 acre estate 7 miles from London bridge in Mottingham. How much land was in the family before 1490 is not known. The last known male heir was a bachelor lawyer who died in 1756. I found evidence that the Crown might have been committing fraud and taking the land. Most of them fled to Massachusetts Bay in the early 1600's as they were barely able to feed themselves. One was brought up on charges of seditious words against the crown. "The Kingdom of England had never prospered since a Scott governed and even the worst Englishmen was better than the best Scottishman" was said to have been uttered by Sir Nicolas Stoddard in the fleet in 1622. He is said to have signed a memorandum of agreement with Grenwitch Hospital London, which later became Dreadnought Seaman's Hospital, regarding certain lands adjoining the King 's park at Eltham in Mottinghamshire.

So, I got the virtual runs on something I was researching. Its a tantalizing mystery to me. My ancestors who immigrated were Puritans. They did not participate in witch trials. In fact, Anthony Stoddard was charged with obstruction and fined 20 pieces of silver for defending Francis Hutchinson on charges of heresy. Drinking alcohol is not a disease. Excessive drinking can be a symptom of depression, workplace burnout (which is abuse), and abuse of a wide variety including but not limited to medical fraud and extortion. I don't think methyl esters were involved although, at this point, they certainly could be. If I get a burr to drink or go out with friends who won't take my inventory, I can now.

I like RC Cola better than Coke.
