SWA announces COVID vaccination required by Dec 8 to maintain employment

I’m sorry, I’m going to go right ahead and say that the people that are claiming to “pRoTeCt My RiGhTs” are probably a lot of the people who don’t want me to have many. I have never met an anti-vaxer that probably think “good old days” would be me serving them high tea wearing an all white uniform as they sat in a breezy antebellum pergola.

I am more than happy to be politely proven wrong, but I’d better not hold my breath.

Yep. Same guys that want to shove me in an oven. I can confirm because I got to listen to long diatribes about it at XOJET.

I'm not jewish, but it really irritates me when *they* make analogies of mask mandates to the holocaust. Been a big peeve of mine lately.
Wearing a mask is totally the same as having your entire extended family wiped out!

Was the holocaust an inconvenience, or is masking a genocide? Because they can't have it both ways......

This and the "show your papers" line being used as being similar to having a vaccine card are most annoying. This is how I know when someone is clueless about real struggle, restriction, and persecution of basic human rights.

I find it quite a bit more than annoying. Maybe it's inevitable that people forget the absolute, wholesale, difficult-to-even-fathom horrors of the not-too-distant past, but hell you'd like to see them at least make an EFFORT. For all of its many, many warts, the modern, Murca-led, post-WW2 Order has been the most prosperous, peaceful, progressive (small p) time in human history, like by A LOT. And now let's burn it all down and get back to internecine chaos because my feelings got stubbed and I might have to wait 15 minutes or pay another buck for my Fazzolis.

It's the mass absorption of easily influenced and consumable media. Media hasn't changed much. Salacious reads sold newspapers even way back win. It's just the mass amount of it and the inability to tell truth from lie. We have entertainment networks posing as news sources and folks can't differentiate. I know so many well educated and well reasoned people that have fallen for it. It's interesting watching them be for the vaccine during Trump's Presidency and immediately against it once Biden took office and vice versa.

...and I've been reading how Joe Rogan "totally owned" Doctor Gupta on inverctermin because he admitted that there is a human version of it.

The really upsetting thing about this is that I suspect that Rogan himself doesn't think that he "totally owned" Gupta. He seems like a reasonably well-intentioned guy who is, you know, "just asking questions", but the politically charged atmosphere around those questions prohibits sincere or at least complete answers to them.

But you get a well-intentioned and likeable (and, let's be fair, not outright STUPID) meathead "just asking questions" that can't, for political reasons, be fully answered, and you get chaos. That's a systemic problem, imho, and not particularly the fault of Rogan OR Gupta. And I've absolutely no idea what you do about that. I am stymied.

So from what I gatherer, Rogan asked questions to Gupta didn't know the answer to... Well I wouldn't expect him to know everything because he's not a infectious disease specialist. He's a Neurosurgeon.
It's similar to someone asking me systems about the 737 and expect me to tell them all about ot because I'm a pilot. I'm sure Rogan understands this, but his audience expects all Doctors to be experts on all matters...except the Doctors who are against vaccinations. They no what they're talking about.

On the other hand some liberals are mad that Gupta didn't go onto the podcast guns-a-blazing. You aren't going to change anyone's mind if you are in attack mode. Trust me! I've tried!

The rise and fall of the Roman Empire in accelerated mode.

Hang on.

Wait, Fazzolis is still around? And people go there?

Delta and Dollar Tree are really going to make bank on the lucrative trailer trash crowd!
Can't help but look down on people can you.

The better question is how much of the bigger clientele is he going to chase off with his anti vax mandate stance.

Guess we'll see.

@Derg your airline is rapidly becoming the airline of choice for the anti vaxxing dollar.

You're right. The airline that invented and prolonged no occupying of the middle seat during Covid won’t have a vax mandate.
