Stopping the Slide

Not much to think about. The cost of adding a 700/900 program to an exsisting 200 program isn't much. It would be very easy to start bidding on 700/900 flying. Why they'd do that with a 170 program in place I don't know. To be completly paranoid about it, you guys going into a 200 program will increase the market value of a lot of the 200s sitting out in the sand right now, maybe to the point (depending on how many of them CHQ takes) that PSA could ditch the 200s they have now and are stuck with due to the low market rates. Trust me... we are all thinking about it here.

After PSA's "no" vote there was a memo posted on our website that said the 900's are being shopped around to other carriers (i.e the lowest bidder). Then we hear RP is starting up a CRJ program. We shall see what happens.

You say you don't know why they would add 700's and 900's when they already have the 170's, but I can one up you there. Why add CRJ 200's when you already have the E-145's?

B/c they have a contract they cant otherwise complete. There is not enough ERJs on the used market to complete the number of 50 seaters CAL wants.

None at all. These are all recent developments...Im still skeptical that are mgmt team would be dumb enough to do this. This would be to support CAL flying so pick some undesireable outstation city from one of their hubs and start from there.

It seems expensive to train the crews on the airplanes, add MX, etc... but you never know.

More like "Canadian government-backed Canadair desperately grasps for a market"! ;)
