Posting for internal candidates went live yesterday. I heard a rumor that the “test” may be administered online this time around. Interviews may happen by the end of June.

A few hours normally. Southwest does the whole “keep it open until we have enough apps,” rather than the just take em all and filter them later that some carriers do.

Southwest did used to do things this way, but in recent years they have been keeping the job postings up for a longer period of time.

Latest word is the app will open this coming Monday for externals. It also sounds like not all of the previous hires for the canceled March class are planning on reapplying, so there should be a number of slots for new candidates.

Typical class sizes have been 18-20 the past few years.

That's a lot of seniority for anyone coming on at the front of the group. It may not get you off reserve right away, but at least being able to easily hold your shift preferences.
