If it ain’t a Boeing, I’m not going. No choice.
I am. But I already knew that.I’m reading the thread trying to see if I’m weird or not. LOL

I'm 51 years old. Its too late to change now.And soon, maybe already, you won’t give a poop if you’re weird or not because it just ‘works’.
“I did the box”i dont think its the CA showing up early thats the problem, its usually when you show up on time and they make some stupid remark about timeliness- and I arrive to a box “done for me” that is full of booby traps because they only ever do it when the FO shows up 15 min after them and forget half of the things
oh yeah CI 120/335kt was a good thing to find out at ToD into moderate around weather with a 140kt tailwind the stupid box can never compute correctly with its 4 bytes of memory“I did the box”
5 hours later over Ohio…
“YOU FORGOT TO CHANGE THE DESCENT PROFILE SPEEDS”
*sighs, scrolls through hoodrat • Learjet pictures*
I have the opposite problem, we run such low CI numbers that our descent speeds are slow. The other day it was less than 250 knots.oh yeah CI 120/335kt was a good thing to find out at ToD into moderate around weather with a 140kt tailwind the stupid box can never compute correctly with its 4 bytes of memory
though arguably an easier problem to fix late in the gameI have the opposite problem, we run such low CI numbers that our descent speeds are slow. The other day it was less than 250 knots.
Lol, the box loads CI which is usually about .76/260 but we are always planned for .78/280 and what you actually fly? Dealers choice. I always put in at least /300 on the east coast. West coast half the time you’re throttled to 280 on the STAR anyway.I have the opposite problem, we run such low CI numbers that our descent speeds are slow. The other day it was less than 250 knots.

That's true. Inevitably I forget to change it, and China asks why you're going so slow. They then ask for a much higher speed.though arguably an easier problem to fix late in the game
I wish more STARs put transition speeds in, so everybody is on the same page.Lol, the box loads CI which is usually about .76/260 but we are always planned for .78/280 and what you actually fly? And then there’s the east coast where the stars are just sort of suggestionsThat's true. Inevitably I forget to change it, and China asks why you're going so slow. They then ask for a much higher speed.

What time are you using though? Do yall have an exact time you have to show at the airplane? Is it customarily the walk arounds are always delegated to the FO there? We really cant get access to the airplane anymore than an hour typically here. If the plane is on a turn theyre fairly tight so there really is no getting to the plane early. It takes 15 min to unload a A321, so you can set your watch from the time the airplane shows in, until you need to arrive at the gate. Getting there any earlier just means you have to watch the clown car unload, I think it holds 375 people? If its an originator, the agent wont be there until 1 hour before. Id say most of the time the FO beats me there on an originator (I live in base) and has the walk around done and is loading the box when I arrive. This works out great because I can start building a rapport and briefing the FAs, Checking the log, and just verifying everything has been done and looks correct.I'm 51 years old. I was raised to believe that early is on time. On time is late.
I was also raised to believe in servant leadership - meaning if there's work to be done, I'm not dismissing it as "someone else's job"
So I'm gonna get there early and if the FO isn't there I'm going to program the box and do the walkaround. If they don't like that, they should show up earlier.

BACK IN THE DAY I USED TO CONNECT AT 1200 BAUD4 bytes of memory
When are you gonna be a commercial pilot? But at least you're building multi time
You don’t salmon down the jetway and into the cockpit once the previous crew is gone? What time are you using though? Do yall have an exact time you have to show at the airplane? Or even better, while the previous crew is still in the cockpit, packing up!You don’t salmon down the jetway and into the cockpit once the previous crew is gone?
